Tie, fighters hitting their mark? Imperials winning the day? That is for sure Legends!
Nice movie
It brings a tear to my eye to see our loyal Imperial forces wiping out those Rebel scum.

Character art makes me want to stand up and yell "SIEG ZEON!"
See, GtA is an opposed piloting check.... ![]()
Quite a nice movie. Did I see it correctly that it was made by only one single person?

I think you should immediately take this down due to safety concerns. If ErikB happened to stumble back in here it could cause an immediate seizure.

Yes, considering he traced most of the actions scenes from a ed model, its quite possible, just takes a while.
He also uses old school animation techniques, like static background with moving elements. Its also a fast pace with loads of flashy and dirty effects, so you don't see its very basic elements over background.
But he is very talented, his composition and storytelling is immersive an exciting.

I think he credited well, and its non-commercial fan film... why would it be seized?
Heh... I watched this movie literally right before coming here to this site. I thought it was awesome work, really well done. Apparently it took him four years of weekend work.

TIEs were quite effective in the movies. Much more so than stormtroopers. In Ep 4, the let the falcon go, but still damaged it. Then in the death star battle, they trashed the rebel forces. In Ep. 5, they were shown as a threat that the Falcon was continuously running from for fear of being destroyed. In Ep 6, they again were doing a number on the rebel fleet in the Death Star II battle.

LOL. You weren't here for ErikB. He used to rant on about how no one should want to play an Imperial or even consider such a horrible thing. What I meant in my post was such a pro-Imperial propaganda film would be so horrible to him it could cause an actual seizure (of ErikB, not the film).
Not only the TIEs are dangerous.
Every time someone says that Stormtroopers can't hit i direct to the survivors of the Tantive IV, Hoth Rebel Base, and dozens (if not more) dead on Endor.
Not hitting is something else.
But yes, quite a nice movie.
Too bad that Disney will not dare to go into a grown-up Star Wars series.
From a technical standpoint this was an amazing video, but I'm not really a fan of the style or how it was applied to the Star Wars universe in this case.
Things like the bombers and y-wings using Proton Torpedoes to shoot down other fighters. That's what concussion missiles are for and aren't generally carried by those two craft.
I did like that the shields on the rebel fighters did appear to have some effect at reducing the deadliness of the TIEs against them (needed several more hits to kill the X-wings over the TIE fighters).
Definitely an Artist to keep an eye on to see where he goes from here.
Very exciting, great animation - well done!
I especially loved the artwork on the ships, great attention to detail.
However, for me personally though, the only two things even remotely Star Wars were the shape of the ships and the sound effects. Everything else - the music, the feel, the pace, the effects - were 100% Macros or Gundam or SB Yamato or pick your favorite space anime.
I'm not quite sure how I feel about the fusion of two very different things, both of which I grew up with and loved on their own.
EDIT:Double ninja'd!

I belive "seizure" here refers to the medical condition, not the legal action.
I am not a fan, at all, of anime. That said, this was a very compelling short. I think the Top-Gun style music maybe wasn't the best choice for keeping it "Star Wars-y", but the pacing and story were great... and really makes me want to watch a show based around a flight of TIEs with a revolving cast, ala Game of Thrones, where nobody has plot armor and the characters know it.
I, too, am not a fan of anime, but this is impressive work for an individual. The early music put me somewhat in mind of Heavy Metal. Overall it is a rather good impression of how I envision space battles to go. First to hit is usually the winner. And unless your vehicle for out weighs the opposition I suggest you get out of there or avoid combat if at all possible.

To me that's a good reason to promulgate it, or at least leave it up.
Otaking does good work. His Doctor Who anime is pretty sweet:
I think this was well done - especially the anime-style. It was more like the old 80's-early-90's style where everything was fluid and they didn't throw speed lines at you (...which is the anime equivalent to 'shaky cam') - reminded me of old Robotech and The Transformers Movie.
I linked this to my friends on Facebook with the title 'Imperial Propaganda!!!' as a joke ![]()
