Replacement Figures.

By Omnislash024, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

It kinda sucks, but when I bought the game and opened it, I found that one of my Ettins had his arm broken off. I suppose I should use glue to fix it ( what kind though I don't know). But my friend had bought the game as well and in his box, one of the Shadow Dragons was completely broken off the base. Point I'm trying to make? It would be nice to have some replacement figures from the Core game available to purchase outside the box.

Take a picture of the broken minis and make sure to add your proof of purchase ID in your request.

Then use the link kindly provided by Steen and you'll be good to go in no time.

FFG offers an amazing service when it comes to broken components from their games. I've bought a big box expansion last year and found out that seven of the minis were damaged :(

FFG sent me ALL minis from this expansion box (just in case). I have nothing but praises so far for the replacement service.

Oh Nice. Just hope I kept my proof of purchase.

FFG just sent me replacements for two broken figures from my Labyrinth of Ruin expansion. I did provide pictures but didn't include the proof of purchase and they did send the replacements. They also were good about replacing a badly mangled command card from my copy of Imperial Assault. The really are top notch on the customer service.

I completely agree. They really are top notch on the customer service.

Two of my Runebound cards came with a white stripe on the back. Who wants marked cards? I submitted my issue, and both cards were quickly replaced, even tho I didn't include proof of purchase or pictures.

Also, due to some kind of bone-headed move on my part, some months ago I somehow lost/misplaced my Descent Quest Guide. Couldn't find it to save my life. Again, I submitted my issue using their Report Problem web page (or whatever it was called before they changed web styles) again w/o proof of purchase. Two weeks later, Ding Dong - Package!

Their great Customer Service is the biggest reason I keep scouting FFG for new & upcoming game releases.

I had a problem with Castle Ravenloft game, and Wizards of the Coast basically said "No, we won't/can't fix it." I haven't bought anything from them after that.

Yeah, I've had an issue before and didn't provide proof of purchase and they immediately helped me. It makes me feel a lot safer with future purchases of their games knowing they are looking out for their customer base (unlike some other game companies). <3

Just got my replacement figure in the mail today. Just want to thank the forum for pointing me in the right direction and Fantasy Flight for the quick replacement of the figure. Mauler has an arm now.

What do I do about an Augor Grisom mini that got mangled by my dog? I'd be happy to pay for a replacement (though not repurchase the whole Trollfens expansion).

I had the same issue with an Ettin with a broken arm and considered submitting a claim to have it replaced, but then thought of the environmental impact of shipping etc of sending another figure to the other side of the world.

So I thought I'd have a go at gluing it back on and see if I was happy, and with a bit of Tarzan grip I can't tell the difference between the two Ettins (besides one being white and one red of course!). I think they may originally be two parts joined at the elbow there on the actual model (as in it's not broken, just not glued/fused on properly).

It's great to know they have an excellent support arrangement (similar to my experience with Lego pieces recently). I'll make use of it of course if I find a piece missing in an expansion, but will hopefully never need to!

Not sure what kind of impact it would have on the environment since they ship stuff everyday anyway

Only small, but every little bit counts. It'd be one extra figure required (an ettin's worth of non-biodegradable plastic), packaging, transport costs to the other side of the world etc.

Anyway, only a small impact and I'm happy with the self repair job :-)

I would put a request in anyway. They might replace him.

They even replaced some cards that I lost after changing apartment. +10 to them.

Thanks to this post I was able to get a missing master fire imp!!!!

Customer service is awesome here!!!!!

FFGs customer service is one of the reasons that they are my favorite game company (that and the games they produce always seem to resonate with me).

They definitely know how to do right by their customers, and I never have to worry when buying their games that I'll get a lemon.

Had an issue myself with my Nerekhall expansion. Opened the box and found that Rendiel's figure was snapped off at the ankle. I didn't know that FFG had such a great track record so I was envisioning nightmares of emailing customer support for weeks, mailing in POP tokens and probably paying some shipping as well. Luckily I found a really great solution. Lapage crazy glue. Comes in gel form and even with such a small surface area to apply to, 10 seconds after applying it was good as new. Can't even tell where it broke. So if going through FFG isnt an option, there are other, very effective, solutions out there.

Hi. After last game session I can't find one of my goblin witchers. I mean I had it in the box, I just lost it. Do you think there is a chance that FFG would sent me another one?

I'll search for it within my house, but hopes aren't high :(

The best way to figure that out is by sending a request.

Or maybe you or somebody else from your gaming group will find it in a few days!

Top notch service from FFG, one of many reason I continue to shell out money to them :D

I sent a request and no fuss and no delay, they shipped a replacement out to me for free - they didn't have to and I would have paid for the part or shipping, but now I'm back to status quo.

THANKS FFG.

One of my Ravager dudes I just got from LoR ( yay!) isn't really broke, but he's bent pretty bad. Might send in a request.

You can unbend them with hot water followed by cold water.

Hot water to make them bendy, position them as you want them, then plunge into cold. Done.

I approve. I've done it with a giant that was holding his mace at a ridiculous angle.

Water needs to be very hot. In fact, I used boiling water.

Warning: Boiling water is hot!! Use with caution :)

I did the same with my master crypt dragon who's wing was pointing straight up, works like a charm, just make sure you only put it in for a few seconds

Yes- you obviously don't want to melt the mini. The idea is just to make that section of plastic more malleable, and then subsequently more rigid once it's in the correct position.

-Submerse the section of the mini you wish to bend into boiling/near boiling water for 5-10 seconds.

-Remove the mini from the hot water, and bend the section you wish to change to the correct shape.

-Holding the deformed section in its desired shape, put the whole mini into cold water for at least 10 seconds.

The mini should hold its new shape very nicely.

I've fixed my volucrix reaver's arms, merriod's tentacles, and dark priest's staves this way (plus the dark knight's swords from Runewars.) Finally, I've gotten smart enough to not store everything in a bag where the shape is constantly being pressed.
