This will get you pumped for armada especially for imp players

By BlackIrishGuy, in Star Wars: Armada

Hence, "Immobilized and/or unwilling to jump out". All my wingmen kept dying in both the Lucasarts games on the higher difficulty levels, unless it was very important that they stayed alive. :)

(Edit) Immobilizer 418 is another designation for the Interdictor, I think. As we've had pointed out before the computer games not exactly up to snuff background-wise. If one keeps digging in the deep end of the EU, eventually one will find green anthropomorphic rabbit smugglers. And nobody wants that.

Wow. Hey Guys it was a Fun video and the Artist did a fantastic job.

That said it is not canon and you will not see this sort of flying in any Movie or up coming books. It's over the top anime meant to be fun not an attempt to create an accurate Star Wars Battle.

Heck if they had the three hero pilots transform their ships into a Mega-Force robot it would have fit.

I saw this a week or so ago; probably the best thing I've seen Star Wars related since ROTJ in 1983. Gives me goosebumps every time I see it.

Of course you will never see that in Movies and Books, they are told from the Heroes perspective. The only place where heroes are at risk to die like everyone else are in GRRM books, everyone else can kill the bad guys in their hundreds and yet hardly take a scratch :) In the movies or books the Ties and Troopers are targets to be shot down and give the semblance of a threat.

the only problem with this animation, imo, is that it makes me look at my bombers with shame <_<

it all makes sense to me. The flying is no more out there than the flight in RotJ. And there is no reason that cluster missiles like that couldnt work with SW tech. They just couldnt do that sort of thing with FX technology in the early 80s. It might not be something that works with the FFG systems or video games but most of the RPGs i have been part of were pretty darn close.

And it was nice to see an ISD use its main guns .

I think its funny when you see the jet engine turbine warming up when he is getting his ship prepped for launch. I mean really?! Nice video though.

It is a bit dubious but ion turbines are a thing in star wars. The Steve Gawley/Lorne Petersen/Joe Johnston blueprints from the 70s have the cross section of the X Wing engine and it has turbines. And since both ships use ion thrust it isnt too much of a stretch.

If you show up for combat and it's an even match, then you failed to adequately plan for the conflict.

The purpose of any military is to kill people and break things as efficiently as possible.

Every admiral, general or commander tries to stack the deck in their favor.

Wait, I am not the one clinging onto an idea the Empire will win and is all powerful when the movies, shows and books have already shown the Empire Lost. :P

But please continue to ignore that simple fact. (Also the EU doesn't matter anymore so we have the Movies, TV shows and about 7 books to draw from. And in the end the Empire looses.)

So who's all butt hurt?;)

In Star Wars Rebellion, I always have atleast one Interdictor in my fleet, otherwise those Rebel scum always run away.

Oh course the Empire loses. No one is disputing that fact. But to have taken over most of the galaxy and to have subdued countless system, the Empire couldn't have been all that incompetent or ineffective. I just think its funny when you say this animation is silly and would never happen like that. From what we know of "canon", yeah it would have been a bloodbath for the Rebels.

The Rebels were absolutely out gunned and were going to lose, my point was more the way the Tie fighters were shown to be some super starfighters taking out several ships in mere seconds (and that goes for the X-Wings too) was not accurate. The dogfights that happen in Star Wars are more akin to WWII dogfights where taking out an enemy was hard and took time and skill to get an enemy ship in your sights. Even Lord Vader took sometime to get a ship targeted and he was one of the best pilots the Galaxy has ever seen.

This video was an anime were the hero blasts through 10-15 enemies in a five minute battle but that is not dogfighting, that's over the top over kill.

And yeah, the Empire should Loosen up.;)
