It's not in the style we are accustomed to seeing Star Wars, but just like the CG series are one artistic interpretation, this is another. This short reminds me of Robotech, and in that sort of anime style, I think it is absolutely fantastic.

LOL, this has been out for years. It is a great video and the maker was just one man and fanbased. Very very well done. But, it is not even close to canon and the Ties' weapons and pilot skills are so wrong it hurts to watch. But it was done as an imperial Day-Dream, nothing more.

Just thought I'd remind you too that Tie Fighters are not that good at all compared to a X-Wing and a Tie Bomber does not have antisquadron weapons that can take out 6 ships in one shot. LOL. Don't be sad when your ties start dying like flies. But that is why you brought a lot of them, right?

Cool, he made it longer awesome. Yeah the older one was only around 2 minutes.. but still very good.

Its drawn 80's anime style which I must say benefitted not only Robotech but ever other show of the era.. Transformers etc.

Look at the 90's or 2000's Transformers. It looks ugly.

I don't know how many times I've watched the original 2:30 minute version. It certainly projected the might of the Imperial Navy but felt a little too biased!

This complete version balances things out. Fleshing out the plight and perils of both Rebels and Imperials alike!

Incredibly awesome, I must note that comedy relief was present! Such as with the lovable TUG (ROFL) at 2:17! I almost fell out of my chair from hysterical laughter!! I never knew Tugs could fly fast enough to keep up with a TIE Fighter! And of course, when the R2 droid has it's dome blown off. Haha!!!

Ohh so cool! At 2:27 an updated Mission Briefing with the Briefing Officer himself! I would completely buy a re-make of TIE Fighter!

You have to hand it to the Rebel pilots though, they fearlessly sally forth to engage the Imps.

Can I say, all that was missing was the awesome KOTR music from the original version!

I liked the addition of the Interdictor, explained why the Rebels didn't just run immediately.

Got it I thought I just saw a clip from this a couple years ago, I didn't know it wasn't finished. Though I heard Lucus Films gave the artist a CD for this film. Is he ignoring it now Disney owns the rights?

Cluster missiles have been a thing since the first Rogue Squadron game. And they were very good at killing half a dozen ships in seconds.

I think they already did that... if by "kick" you mean "lightsaber" and by "kid with crutches" you mean "youngling".

Divide the enemy and destroy them in detail. Any Reb ships destroyed are Reb ships that cannot spread chaos.

This is the Empire we're talking about, they probably kicked a couple of kids with crutches on the way to the battle.

I'm just saying its lousy propaganda. It does a far better job of inspiring the oppressed to rise up against such a barbaric, and cold blooded regime. This is a battle that will inspire cries of "remember the lost convoy!"

Make no mistake, those ships will be avenged. For the Republic!

May i respectfully remind everyone here that the title of this thread promised to get you pumped. It did not promise truth or accuracy or any such thing.

gotta say the guy knew what he was doing

not because of the superb animation, but because he knew to emphasize his protagonists' faces instead of being faceless tie fighter mooks

it's how you distinguish the aces from the fodder

this is exceptional, just fantastic. The fact that he animated it by himself just makes it infinately better.

As a Rebel id say this video could be considered quite realistic to all those nay sayers. The revs were quite outmatched but gave a good showing and the flow of the battle was particularly good. I personally im not familiar but i would ask about the tie bomber missle pods, are those cannon weapons? Im not familoar with them.
