Are the cards in the expansion the same as the core or will we get some expansion specific cards?

I believe that there are expansion-specific cards.

I can't be the only person who believes this is a big blunder on FFG's part, i mean if i buy the core this friday i will have to play with only a single VSD and some tie fighters for a month and a half, thats ridiculous.

I disagree, is actually a good plan in my opinion. We can play a lot of smaller missions and get the basics down/establish a playgroup and then get the full-on hose flowing in a few weeks. Even if it was unintentional, I would much prefer this.

They did basically a similar thing with Imperial Assault (whether intentional or not) and it was nice to have all the basics for a while to get acclimated. Then Wave 1 came out a week ago and now we are in full swing and everyone has at least a basic understanding to build on.

I agree, we will have the core set for about a month followed by wave one. Then a couple more months for wave two. I think this is great spacing.

For a launch event I intend to have I'd like players to get their core sets together for a massive team battle on a 6x3.

Just an update on Walmart. I got them to acknowledge that it is released right now but the two people I talked to both said that as far as they can see, it's not going to ship until the end of April. So, I actually cancelled my order from them and I'm going to get mine someplace else. Interesting thing happened when I cancelled... it said it might not cancel because it was shipping soon. Yet the order still said expected arrival date in May. I asked them about it and they still stuck to late April. Still, after all that, I wouldn't be suprised if they they got it next week or something. Too late for me, though.

They said that Wave 1 will be in Australia 2 weeks after that, so 3 weeks from now.

My core preorder will apparently be in at the (Australian) store I ordered next week, but Good Games already has their core stocks out to their stores in NSW. So no idea how distribution works here.

My LGS (had) Cores today, I handily scooped up the last one this evening.

I just received word that Wave 1, all 5 ship packs and both fighter packs (no mention of the dice and maneuver tool) will be arriving in late April/ early May. This is still a little tentative due to recent issues on the U.S. West coast ports, but this does coincide with the 4-6 week lead time when things show as 'on the boat' under the Upcoming tab.
