For the Empire!

By Lordfiredeath, in X-Wing

While we all anxiously wait for new product news, here is an awesome animation in the style of Macross (Robotech for American audiences). This is the expanded version of the clip that has been floating around for a few years now. It. Is. Glorious! I apologize in advance for any who are aligned with the Rebel Alliance.

Enjoy!

I'll watch this when I get the chance to have audio with it (I'm in a public space right now).

However, ... apologies to the traitors of galactic peace and stability?!

No, ... just.... No.

Also - why does the TIE have an air turbine?

I love the nod they throw in to the old TIE-Fighter game with some of the instrumentation (shield/hull indicator on the left, sensor display on the right).

This makes me want to use munitions...

Pish and Tosh! This is clearly an animated Holovid, made for use as Imperial Propaganda!

The only complaint I have is the music is a little too "in your face" edgy. But I might just be partial to The John Williams score.

I thought that at the beginning too ..... Then I realised that this was so awesome I just didn't care.

I'd not seen the longer version before. Very cool.

That had to have been the single most awesome thing I've watched all week

This needs to made into an entire series.

little

Or something.

This was fantastic, really hit on not just the "Robotech" aesthetic but also a healthy dose of "Heavy Metal." I would love a regular show like this every week, just the adventures of a TIE squadron kicking ass.

I used this video as an explanation to my 5 year old daughter that girls can be TIE Pilots too...

Fantastic, thanks for that. Makes me love my bombers even more.

epic! give us more!

First time I've seen the full version...makes me wish there was more serious (but not grim dark edgy) SW stuff out there...

Only because the dice hated the rebel player. ;)

I second this notion completely. The make great escorts for glass cannons in my opinion.

Great video (I had not seen the extended one either).

Something tells me that the referee forgot to double check the army scores before starting the game :P

(3 ISD, 1 interdictor, full compliment of ties vs a compilation of frigates, blockade runners and transports? They never stood a chance!)

Hence the interdictor...

That was so awesome, my head nearly exploded. Well, I know a certain group of people who are getting shown that later!

There's a good reason they didn't use William's amazing score: It gets a third party match that most of the time leads to the audio being muted. I've seen a shorter version of this that has Williams' score.

That sad moment when all the Y-wings' torpedoes were jammed and never hit the Interdictor cruiser :(

But to be fair, that's exactly what ordnance does in this game, right?

I can't like anything more for the day, but I'll like this and the OP tomorrow. Loved this vid. Girl should have been the interceptor pilot, but whatever, she handled that bomber like a BEAST.
