Are there any other ship types in this game where the generic pilot has lower values in the stat line than the named pilots?

No, the YT-1300 is unique in that way.

It would have been cooler if it was the MF title that changed the statline. Have all of the named pilots cost 10 points less and have the title cost 10.

Agreed but I think the developers figured that is way too many stat modifications for a single title. I mean three stats changed and one of them by 2 plus an upgrade slot. Now sure they could have made a 14 10 point title instead of saying giant evade it says each stat gains 1 but would a 3275 turreted big ship without evade be even more balanced for 37 points or more OP for say an ORS? Want the 6th shield? 4 points for a shield upgrade so a 3276 turreted big ship for 41 points for the ORS assuming you don't have a minimum pilot skill of 5?
