I love Y-wings! And my favorite colors are red and grey!
So now that I've gotten my hands on a few more of the venerable Y-wings I'm going to be painting up a Grey Squadron!
4-5 Y-wings
2 B-Wings!
'Rebel Y-wing pilots wear every scratch and dent as a badge of honor!
The badge of the right engine is the "Death Star II Attack Badge" a sign that this ship flew in the Battle of Endor (probably a B-wing pilot then since the only surviving Y-wing from Grey Squadron was Salm!
Thoughts?
I think the weathering and battle damage came out well! I found the Y-wings to be really problematically free of wide open painting spaces that would be clean and easy to paint so I just tried to get as much weathered layers as I could were the ship wasn't covered in engine parts or tubes.
