Nera's 3 Musketeers

Played a vassal game last night with a list I'd been wanting to try:

Nera - PtL, APT, Proton Torp

3x Prototype w/Prockets

I played against an interesting scum list:

N'dru: hotshot, hull, cluster missile, lone wolf (pretty standard n'dru - except hull upgrade)

torkil - ICT, k4

spice runner - recon, moldy crow, blaster

spacer - heavy, flechette cannon

So both lists were kinda wonky to start, but my red dice were blindingly hot so the game finished in about 30-40 minutes. Started when N'dru's 8 dice cluster missile only rolled 1 hit on a proto...and then Nera rolled 2hits 2crits on N'dru from her proton torp (on which he rolled blank, blank, eyeball (rerolling a blank to a blank). I ended up rolling 2h2crit with the proton torp, a 5 hit proton rocket into the spice runner and a 5 hit APT into torkil which he wiffed for a one shot. I still had all my ships and he only had the spacer at the end when we called it.

Not a great judge of whether the list is good or not, but it is a start. I'd like to fit in AT on the proto's for after they fire their rockets, but there isn't any points unless i lose the missiles, which is the whole point of the list lol.

I see the fragility of having 3 a-wings be a main part of your alpha strike, but it is a whole lot of fun. If you can maneuver well early game to keep them out of arc as much as you can you can really put some hurt on someone when you want to.

Thoughts on the list?

The weakness here is Nera vs. high PS opposition. Yes, she can fire out of arc, but can she get the TL? Not if your opponent is smart...

I like the idea of 3 proton rockets though. Again, low PS makes it hard to deal with higher PS enemies unless you can get some blocks, perhaps

It is the problem with running ships under PS8. I loathe anything 5&6, it's just so MEH when it comes to PS. Need to be at least 7, but preferably 8 or above. I like han with VI so I know only 2 other pilots can tie me, but soontir usually likes PtL and vader usually goes for outmaneuver, but I digress.

If i'm moving first, I should be getting target locks after slow rolling the first couple of rounds. I usually go 1 straight twice and then 1 banks to line up my shots. Even at r3 a proton torp can be devastating (like I saw in the game above). Now I need a TL + F when I fire my torps due to their built in abilities, especially the APT. If I roll blanks and have no focus, turning 3 blanks to eyeballs does me no good and my 6pt torp went to waste. This list isn't meant to be super competitive, just fun and annoying. Something to keep the super competitive lists honest. When you have enough ordinance to 1 turn a decimator between the 3 prockets and the APT, you know you need to watch out.
