Double interceptors

I'm trying out a new list for upcoming store championships and regionals here in Sweden.

My favourite ship to fly is the interceptor (especialy Soontir Fel) so I've decided to take two in my list. This is what I've come up with.

98pts for initiative bid.

Yorr is there to deal with Rebel Captive and Stress Builds. There's nothing worse for Interceptors than being double stressed. And I just love Vader as Crew. A big game winner for me in previous lists.

Fel is just awesome and with stealth and autothrusters very hard to hit.

Jax I'm not so sure about. But I like his ability. Especially usefull against Imperial lists. I think Hull and Shield is better on him since he will be closer to the enemy so no help from autothrusters.

What do you guys think? Is it competitive?

The ship I fear the most is a decimator with gunner and Vader. And perhaps a phantom.

I like the list in principle, but I don't like Yorr. You need to be at R1 to use his ability and that will severely limit your Int's movement. I would change Yorr to an Omicron with Engine Upgrade, but that's me.

I've also run Jax with Predator instead of PtL and had great success with it, again, that's personal taste though.

Autothrusters instead of Hull on Jax and you're good to go.

Personally i'd also consider Shield over stealth on Fel, but thats always up to you,

I think it could work, although Yorr will be only used perhaps in the beginning. Fly in formation at the start, the first time you PtL, put the Stress on Yorr so Fel & Jax can make some early hopefully unexpected white moves to get better positioning on the enemy for when the furball commences. After that, Yorr's job is just vadering until he dies and the interceptors just do their thing.

Keep in mind that Fel is not 'terrible' against Rebel Captive or other stressing. I mean, every time someone gives him a stress, he gets a free focus token, so its not a bad deal. Granted, you absolutely don't want to have 2 in one round, so you can't PtL if you know stress is incoming, but if you can kill the worst stress dealer early (vader helps here) then the match should go your way...

Carnor like having hull+shield certainly, but if turrets remain prevalent in your area, then autothrusters might not be a bad idea. But of all the interceptors, I think carnor needs it the least...

I played a game yesterday with this list against two blue sq. B-wings with HLC and FCS. And a Y-wing with ion cannon and BTL-A4 title.

Jax ability was never used in that match since he always used TL. My opponent flew really well and lured me into a R1 trap so Fel lost his stealth.

But my lambda was great. Jax could use PTL without being stressed. And when he had me cornered I did a K-turn, gave stress to Yorr, boosted to get a R1 shot from behind and took a focus.

We played an untimed match, but unfortunately we couldn't finish due to me having to go to work.

In the end it was his two B-wings with one shield each vs. Jax woth two hull.

It could had gone any way. I flew really well in the end, dodging both his arcs and chipping away a damage or two each round.

With a little more practise I think I will do well with this list.

Yorr's ability is Range 2 - it's actually pretty forgiving.

If your opponent only used TL, then Jax was working because, while focus is not huge for b-wing defense, it still makes a small difference increasing your damage.

imo, autothursters >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> all other mods

when you have to opportunity to take them, take them. They only need to trigger once to basically have the same worth as shield upgrade for half the points

As others have mentionned, autothrusters on Carnor is a must, especially when you'll be facing turrets (hopefully you'll manage to get in range 1 outside of arc to make full use of Carnor's ability and autothruster's defensive capabilities).

My own preference for Soontir is autothruster + targeting computer, but that's based on how I fly and my local meta. Autothrusters is a big thing in my area and Soontir's average damage with just a focus to modify his rolls is often not enough to deal actual damage vs a highly defensive target.

Alright. I'll try autothrusters on Jax for a couple of games.

So. I ran Jax with autothrusters today. I think I'll stick with that. But that leaves at 97 points. I want at least 1 point initiative bid. That leaves me with 2 points to spend on my Shuttkl. Today I ran Anti Pursuit Lasers. Any other sugestions?

Can't go wrong with FCS. That being said I'd be inclined to dump Vader if you're going to spend more on the shuttle.

I've got no where else to spend my points =). Both Fel and Jax are maxed. I'll give FCS a try. Thanx

Personally I would keep the Shield upgrade on Jax and drop the hull for autothrusters. That leaves you at 98. Sure you can get the FCS, but if you go up against an opponent running vader crew, you will be happy to have that shield...

That's what I did. Swapping hull for autothrusters actually leaves me at 97 points. Not 98.
