Feral characters: Support group for the primal raised.

They thought the forest and wind blowing in the night, next thing they know space people come with light sticks of death and roaring swords!! Of course eventually your gonna bow down and proclaim full servitude to the God-Emperor. Even generations after this fact it's still a little hard for me to grasp exactly how many ways a feral worlder would react in his first steps off his homeworld, no matter what knowledge he was given prior to the event. I'm playing a Feral seeker, who was a sort of bounty hunter on his home planet. He received hearsay of a large bounty off world and his travels led him onto a ship... Of course wandering around he accused the ship of trying to eat him getting stuck in a bundle of wires... Thanks GM Im now playing a once fearless tactical hunter who is now soiling himself at every mechanical device around him?!

I'm mostly posting to try and get a grip on a way to appropriately role play the country bumpkins in the 40k universe a little bit more seriously.

Hi honey and welcome ;) .

There are obviously many ways of playing a feral type.

Here are 2 quick options:

The feral has knowledge of magic and magic users and his culture is afraid of their strange power and thus has learnt to show great deference. Off-worlders using advanced science are pretty much magic users to the feral and he will show the same kind of wary deference. Any advanced piece of equipment will be "equalized" to something the feral knows and understands. Thus a space ship will be a ship to him and he will use the same kind of rituals he would do if boarding a ship on his planet, for example sacrifice a shark or other fishy predator to make the journey safe or impregnate a woman to ensure his line continues even if the ship were sunk....If riding in a vehicle, the feral might try to feed the vehicle first (putting sugar in the fuel tank?)....etc. etc. etc.

Another option is to have the feral know magic users and come from a culture in which magic users are powerful beings whose power can be "stolen". Thus brave ferals often steal stuff from magic users deemed too powerful or take stuff from magic users they can defeat to make themselves stronger.....

Once exposed to advanced technology, the feral steals or takes these pieces of technology and wears them, even if he has no clue what they can do or how to operate them....

Cue scenes of the feral fighting a ship's rating to get his hands on the powerspanner.....which he will then proudly wear around his neck like a pendant.....
