Look at the Hybrid Sentinel, monster from the Lair of the Wrym Expansion Set

It has an attack called "Fire Breath" and it reads as follows: Starting with the target space, trace a path of 4 spaces in any direction. All figures on this path are affected by this attack".

My question is: Can these 4 squares be in any direction like "one east, one north-west, one west, another north?". Or it has to be a direct line in one direction?

From the FAQ:

Q: When tracing a path for the Fire Breath ability, does the path have to be a straight line?

A: No, the path can be traced in any direction and can even change direction.

Please note that 4 TOTAL spaces get affected by the attack (including the target space), not 5. Fire breath allows you to affect 3 additional spaces.

But just to be clear, it has to be a path, all the squares affected must connect to the previous one

Also, as stated many times on the forum, a single figure can't be affected more than once by a single fire breath.
