POW CAMP MAP

By Egyptoid, in Rogue Trader Gamemasters

An idea for a campaign.

Imperial POWs in a Xeno Camp

they must decide between plotting escape, sabotaging xeno ops,

collaborating, or just waiting for release.

I've got a map started here: LINK

What am I forgetting on the map ?

You're missing any sort of mess hall, which you want fairly separate from the prisoner buildings due to the potentially dangerous things you find in your average kitchen.

The prisoner barracks seem awfully small compared to all the other facilities.

For Xenos, I might use Tau. Regimented and strict, but not horribly cruel torture you to death at the breakfast table like the way Dark Eldar would be

Seconded.

Also, from a security standpoint, HQ should not be in the center. You might consider creating a staff enclave that surrounds the main gate, but is separated from the main camp. Entering the camp, one would see and be in the staff/guard camp with separate living/dining/logistics support facilities. These would (ideally) be staffed by non-prisoners, but they might need prisoners for these tasks depending on how well manned the guards are. One would then need to pass through a second layer of security to enter the prisoner's camp.

Imagine two 'concentric' squares. The inner square is divided with perhaps the top quarter reserved for the guard's camp. The space between the squares is the killing zone giving guards a chance to get escaping prisoners before they are outside the perimeter. Filling the rest of the inner square is the prisoner's camp. I think that something like this will help improve your camp's verisimilitude.

okay ; version is updated. ideas above have been incorporated. LINK

thanks for the input.

also added the salt mine camp

added the Canteen to the maps.

this is a place where prisoners who work hard can spend the

scrip they earn on extras like cigarettes, musical instruments,

snacks, dice, cards, etc.

this is of course contrary to imperial military discipline,

since it is akin to accepting favors from the enemy.

No mess hall needed in a POW camp - they just throw down slop from overhead maybe once every few days or or fill up a trough full of nasty viddles - again not too often LOL

Also dont forget to add the electrified bed box springs (ala Rambo) LMFAO

I sort of agree Morbid-Don, but one of my plans for making the camp insidious is that the Tau will actually be trying to subvert the imperials, so the camp is nice as possible for a prison.

The occasional cruelty will be from bored or hungry Kroot.
