Autblaster is a good filler, works really well on kavil. I've had some fun running a loaded Horton without turret as well.

Autoblaster Turret is a new thing.

Autoblaster vs Ion Cannon is not. However, that's not exactly apples to apples.

Turret vs Cannon:

Autoblaster (Turret)

Ion Cannon (Turret)

The Autoblaster got a significant nerf, but also got a colossal buff.

The Ion Cannon, on the other hand, got a devastating nerf, with its only buff being shared by the Autoblaster's conversion as well.

All I have to say is if a BTL Y-Wing with an autoblaster is able to trigger the title against you, you need to re-evaluate how you are flying. All the droids in the game can't change that in the end, a Y-wing is just a Y-wing and unless you are running names with specific builds its turret just isn't scary anymore; especially if it can't fire out of arc. Sure, the bombs are a fun trick but they are easy to read and therefore easy to dodge. I want to like the Y-Wing, I really do, but any points invested in one bump it into the range of a generic B-Wing, and I'll take the B-Wing every time over a Y.
