Are we talking epic, or just capturing the spirit of things- If you want every named pilot from Red Squadron, you'd need 5 X-wings (Garven Dreis, Wedge Antilles, Biggs Darklighter, Luke Skywalker, Jek Porkins), as well as Dutch Vander. Keyan Farlander also flew a y-wing. And of course, you've got the falcon.

On the other side of the field, You've got Vader leading 8 Black Squadron Ties, including Mauler Mithel, Dark Curse, and Backstabber). 200 points would cover those 9 ships and the upgrades.

Han is not allowed to deploy until you're down to one ship.

200 points would get you all of the named pilots who have cards on the rebel side, and Vader and his 8 ties on the Imperial side.

Throw in some rules for a Falcon reinforcement, the trench run, and the turbolaser batteries, and you've got yourself a sweet looking scenario.

Epic maybe down the line.

Have Luke and Han vs Vader, Mauler and Backstabber but Empire is going to need to add a ship to balance points.

I've actually been tracking the info down for red squadron and then working it out from there. Assuming all the X-Wings are carrying proton torp loads and astros (which who has which was a pain to track down) they get expensive quick.

If you're going for thematic upgrades and not putting Stay On Target with Luke, you're doing it horribly wrong.

I would suggest not charging points for proton torpedos since they can't use them against ships. In fact, I would add this rule to the scenario.

If at anytime the Rebel player does not have a ship in play armed with proton torpedoes, the Imperial player wins.

(OK it was Krail that said the line but he was talking to Dutch - and Krail isn't in the game unless you count him as a Generic Gold which can't take an EPT

Garven, unfortunately, gets stuck with R5-K6. Poor guy.

Which is annoying, because not only is R5-K6 not great, but Garven wants to be doing Focus actions all the time, not target locks. It's the worst pairing of named astromech to named pilot I can think of - Luke and R2-D2 is brilliant, Biggs and R2-F2 makes sense, Jek and R5-D8 is pretty much compulsory......

Garven really needs some way of converting target locks into focus tokens or vice-versa for his astromech to actually help him.

I've played Red Squad (all 12 of 'em) vs. Vader and 15 of his closest friends at 300 points (one of them being a Shuttle just because...). Pretty fun game, especially since I killed 7 TIEs before my first casualty (Biggs) died In the end the Rebels won, but it cost them all of the named pilots, with little more than a group of generic Reds walking away from the fight.

To be fair, they were hanging the medals around their necks, so no problem with attaching a medal to Chewie. Maybe Chewie didn't want a medal because he is a nudist
