Just got them done. As a rule I will never use a mini until it's painted, and in this case I didn't even want to use the cutouts, so now I feel like I finally have access to all this extra stuff!

Used a matt varnish? It appears you've either added a texture during the initiate base coat spray or while varnishing them. A part from that I'd say its a great job, I still haven't finished painting the core set so I am quite envious.

The varnish tends to cause that layer. I live in Florida and it's crazy humid here. from what I understand if it were more dry, the coat would apply much better.

I'm also in FL - I spray them on the patio, then run inside to my game room where the dehumidifier is running - overnight drying this way seems to clear any haze, but you gotta be quick...

I usually have to do this for the one or two weeks of summer we have over here. Any kind of miniature spray seems to hate heat and/or direct sunlight. Similar things happen in cold temperatures of course.

I've since changed to using an airbrush for such things, its incredibly difficult to over spray a miniature now.

I simply didn't try. I think the bars are hideous and didn't want them.
