Tetran Cowall is now awesome!

By SmartCookie, in X-Wing

Tetran Cowall

-Stay on Target

-Autothrusters

Colonel Jendon

-Gunner

-Firecontrol

-ST 321 (title)

-Engine Upgrade

Carnor Jax

-PTL

-Autothrusters

With Jendon attacking twice and getting the extra TL's, he can then hand them to Tetran while he's doing his shenanigans.

I tried out Tetran alongside Yorr today -- it worked really well. Being able to adjust Tetran's dial AND have him come away without any stress is fantastic, especially since it means that he can do it again next round. I think a Tetran + Soontir + Yorr list might be interesting...

That song is my ringtone. :)

Misunderstood. Still a nice trick, though.

I take Tetran in my three int list

Its

Soontir Fell

Turr phennir

&

Tetran Cowell

all with 'royal tie', 'autothrusters' 'stealth' and 'PTL'

comes in at bang on 100 points and is really flexible. Tetran is perhaps the weak link in the chain but im not fussed about the initiative bid as they are all relatively high PS and if i take a generic royal tie i lose that k turn ability that while not *great* is very handy occasionally in a list where you really want to be behind people and close up, having that variable speed occasionally lets you get into a better range bracket.

I've only lost one game with this list so far, problem is i like it so much all my other ships just sit on the shelf at the moment so i think im going to force myself to play some new lists and keep this one in reserve.

Yesterday, I flew

Tetran Cowall (24)
Stay On Target (2)
Autothrusters (2)
Hull Upgrade (3)
Royal Guard TIE (0)
Soontir Fel (27)
Push the Limit (3)
Autothrusters (2)
Hull Upgrade (3)
Royal Guard TIE (0)
Captain Yorr (24)
Fire-Control System (2)
Gunner (5)
Intelligence Agent (1)
Tactical Jammer (1)
Total: 99
I flew against fat Han + 3 bandits, and decided that I might just have to call this list the Salt Shaker (because of how salty it made my opponent :P . It was a friendly game, but I definitely got away with some shenaniganery). We had to call the game early because of time constraints, but I have to say, I really like this list. Yorr gives you the freedom to use SoT even when it's not strictly necessary -- just about every turn, I plotted a 3-K, figuring that I would probably change it to another maneuver, just for the sheer amount of flexibility it offered. The Intel Agent on Yorr let me know right where Han was going each round, which in turn let me change my maneuver to suit and still get an action in. With the buzzsaw setup, Yorr doesn't need to worry about eating all those stress tokens (or bumping, which helps to stop him from overshooting the battle).
I am thinking about changing the Hull Upgrade on Soontir to a Stealth Device, and dropping the Tactical Jammer on Yorr for the initiative bid. But, having flown this, I completely agree: Tetran is most definitely awesome.

I think this is of little value on its own, HOWEVER, Intel Agent. : D After playing that 3x ORS, 3x Navigator, 3x Anti Pursuit Lasers build I'm starting to like Intel Agent a lot for a single point she's worth it even if you can't change your dial willy nilly.

Since Tetran may be stressed, it might be a good idea to give him a Targeting Computer so that he can used a saved TL for when he's stressed because unmodified dice are trash.

I think the shuttle needs an Engine Upgrade on it to make it really effective and pull its own weight more. The team looks to have merit though.
