Poll: What do you like more ? Rebels or Empire

By DreadStar, in Star Wars: Armada

So those are our only choices? The Dead Jedi, Severed Separatists, or The Empire?

"Vote" Black Sun! Spice-Care for all!

And the thought that Lord Vader would do such a thing!?

DESPICABLE!!

I don't know, I don't trust Lord Vader. He's a flip flopper on topics, first he is one of the leading generals of the Jedi said to be "the One" which obviously meant he was going to be the next Jedi canidate after Yoda steps down then Bam! He's Palpatine's second in command? And there hasn't been a good second party since the Jedi were brought to ruin by Vader himself. I heard he even wiped out the next generation of Jedi voters and even helped bring the third party Separatist to an end.

Somethings going on. You just watch Vader will turn on your Emperor one day, you'll see.

That theory about Vader being a former Jedi Knight is pure speculation.

I seriously doubt Palpatine would put his trust into a Jedi after his life was threatened by a Jedi assassination attempt and a Jedi Revolt to usurp his power.

This is all just rebel propaganda to make the Empire turn on itself.

Don't be believe these lies!

Thanks to this thread I can now consder myself an informed voter.

I can see Black Sun was NEGLECTFULLY left out as an option, but I said the Rebellion. Gotta sell old guns and droids to somebody. :3

Well, it took some time, but finally there are plenty of Empire players showing up on the poll. 41% Rebs vs 59% Imps.

Man i am really excited to try it out.

IMO Black Sun really wouldn't work in Armada since they have no Large ships, and possibly no Mediums. We know from Shadows of the Empire that the flagship of their fleet was a frigate but AFAIK we don't know what class it was and thus don't have any idea whether it would be a small base frigate or a medium base frigate.

Yeah, I finally figured out how to vote from different IP addresses.

I prefer the terrorist ahh Rebels

Freedom Fighter, hello! Blowing up a ISB station is not a crime, from a certain point of view.

Spinning and twisting the truth in such a vile fashion under the guise of some rhetorical relativism...

Thankfully the Empire has a straight-talking balanced and fair method of approaching how it deals with reality.

Like Slave Mines and blowing up planets? We remember the Lasats.

Fulcrum lives.

The Empire's labor policies maintain low unemployment while also keeping consumer prices and therefore inflation low.

Regarding that planet, it had to be removed to build the interstellar bypass which now runs through that portion of space. Now interstellar commerce can flow more freely, which is better for everyone else concerned.

Sacrificing a habitable planet, when habitable planets are the rarest in non-renewable resources, for easier travel. What dummy thought this was a good idea again?

For me, I like the feel of rebel ships better. I like playing the faster, more nimble, less overt style. That being said, the Star Destroyer is iconic and the emotional connection to the physical presence of the ship is visceral and awesome. As such, I had to vote for Empire.

Well, if Alderaanians had wanted to raise their environmental concerns, they should have done so through the proper channels at the proper time. If they couldn't be bothered to take an interest in public affairs and raise their voices at the appropriate time, then they only have themselves to blame.

I am an imperial supporter. We know the rebs win, but there is something to the organization and acceptance of the Imperial empire. The Imperials could not have remained in power without the support of many planets and people.

It's time for Godwin's law.

So did Hitler, and look at what he did!!

Empire is fascism. Empire is oppression.

We shall not be under your boot anymore!!!

So yes, he Empire is suppose to be what the world would have looked like if the Nazis had won WWII. An oppressive state that used slavery and genocide to create the fear to control the populace and total control of the media and public education to rewrite history and spin the facts to make the Emperor look more than human, a cult of personality if you would.

That's no little secret, it was discussed about even when I was a kid playing with the origonal mini- figures. Even the Imperial officers uniforms and the name of the elite troopers where taken from the German army from WWII. (Storm Troopers) could go on with the clonjng of the perfect soldiers and eugenics but you get the idea.

Yes, there are many obvious parallells to Nazi germany in the film. I agree, and I also feel that was intentional on the part of lucas and the costume designers.

Yes, the Nazi parallel is the most overt one, but there's also Rome and the British Empire, though who knows how many were intended by George Lucas.

Rebels.

They have 3 different ships in wave 1 while the Empire gets only 2.

I played rebels in x wing..

However imps have star destroyers in armada. Cant resist the dark side.. must have star destroyerz... also someone mentioned cookies..

I'm a fan of Standard Equipment, and leading the Lowest Common Denominator to victory. So I'm a fan of the sleek, modernized look of the Empire and the loads of TIE Fighters, storm troopers, and other disposable extras mobbing to victory over the Glamor people in the Rebellion.

As for the morality issues... in spite of Lucas wanting to paint the Empire as nothing more than an allegiance of evil the EU does have some decent, upstanding people in it who do their part to maintain the same order in the galaxy the Republic did. Even within the movies, in the cut scenes from RotJ, Moff Jerjerrod expresses clear hesitance and reluctance to blow up the moon with several battalions of troops still on it. This scene may have been there to show that the Empire was crumbling to the point where even its own members were criticizing it.

Rebels. Other than demos, I've never played imps in X-wing. It'll be the same for this game.

Sorry but I love high-5s too much. The Empire doesn't have those.
