It should be an update for their Dice App. I think the only reason why they haven't done this is because of all the free ones out there.

The Dice App by itself seems contrary to why I play the game, but if they were to combine it with a squad editor, or other support tools, I just _might_ be willing to spend cash.

I noticed this the other day when I was trying to put X-Wing Squad Designer on my wife's phone. Thought I was going nuts. It's still on my phone, but not listed in my apps in the store. Darn good app, I hope it returns (note to self, NEVER reformat my phone).

If you play other FFG Star Wars games, it's a fantastic app! I play Imperial Assault and the RPG, as well as X-wing. Great app!

The companion app has some google ad thing in the bottom of the screen.

This is why I hate Disney....Disney wants to controll everything....Disney wants it's fingers into everything....how many of you noticed that Disney had to have its logo on the wave six products? The Disney thing kinda worries me with our beloved X-Wing game....because We should all know that disney can make or break things and can shut down things with a quickness.... and I hope it never comes to that . I just dont trust Disney.

Disney owns the Star Wars IP. They are actually required to protect that IP, or they will lose it.

If its as simple as Disney doing takedowns of apps running ads, thats fine with me. Its if they decide to go all heavy handed and start shutting down everything that has anything to do with Star Wars thats the problem.

I don't recall ever seeing ads on the X-Wing Squad Designer, just a simple donate button at the bottom

I think the cease and desists also stops others from pursuing such activities in fear of being sued by a megacorp that can afford a couple hundred lawyers.

Then they need to develope, or conscript one of the already existing apps.. I still use the one i liked most, I just dont get updates.. the online designer ones are still up and running, but the free apps got cease and desist orders.. how fair is that.

I have no issues with them taking down the apps, but only if they put out a squad designer themselves that is as good as the Squad Designer app (which is excellent). I'll be mad if they take down any squad designers and then don't create anything to fill that void. I'd even pay (a small amount) for an official app if it was actually good.

It can get hard to pick and choose what is defended with the internet, so you end up having to do it for all of them. Stupid, but thems the rules.

I've emailed the guy and he's stated that he's not going to continue due the the cease and desist.

I particularly miss the Xwing Soundboard. I lost the phone it was installed on, and can't reinstall since it's been yanked. Bah! Anyone have a replacement/solution?

Star wars.com has an online soundboard.
