Has anyone else noticed that the "X-Wing Companion" app and the "X-Wing Squad Designer" app are missing from the Google Play store now? Did the developers abandon them, or is FFG taking them down? Of all the Android X-Wing apps, I liked those two the best so it makes me sad that I can't update them anymore.

X-wing squad designer is still available, the author has a Google+ page dedicated to distribution. He hasn't had any luck getting reinstated on Google play. He claimed that FFG was not responsible for the takedown.

X-Wing Squadron Builder is still there, as is a solo AI app.

Looks like he updated it a few days ago, so I would assume it's still an active project.

I just checked and X-Wing Companion has been removed from the US Google Play store. As I live in Sweden I hadn't noticed it.

Apparently Disney asked Google to take it down. I'll contact them and see if we can work things out.

Was X-wing Companion charging/contained advertising?

The companion app has some google ad thing in the bottom of the screen.

R U saying if you have them you're good but if you don't they are missing from Google Play and you get them from the developer?

I have two which I got from google play and they are still on my phone.

Unless they have plans to create & distribute their own app, this seems a little heavy handed?

It would not be FFG shutting down 3rd party apps baring the Star Wars name. Star Wars and many other of the names seen in this game are protected under a trade mark. FFG does not own that trade mark but rather a deal to use it. Any apps made with this TM that do not have permission would be pursued by Disney.

Then I hope FFG comes out with their own to support the game.

I like the ability to have a quick phone/tablet reference, saved ready squads, etc...

It should be an update for their Dice App. I think the only reason why they haven't done this is because of all the free ones out there.

Yes, as long as you have it installed it'll stay on your phone.

I've send an e-mail to Disney to see if we can get to some sort of agreement in which I can keep on releasing X-Wing Companion. I'll keep you updated

If they're taken down from the store they'll stay on your phone, but you won't be able to update them unless you manually install them from somewhere else.

Hopefully Disney will see reason.
