Say hi to my x-packs as they travel across America

By kevinjohn3d, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

I ordered my copies of the expansion figures through CoolStuffInc. They are based in Maitland FL (right outside of Orlando). I live in Tallahassee FL, 4 hours from Orlando . I just got word from FedEx that they received the package yesterday and the expected delivery date is..... next Tuesday, 5 days away.

So it's fairly obvious to me that this 4 hour trip should not take 5 days (120 hours) so I have come to the realization that my figures were chosen to tour across America .

If you happen to see the FedEx truck carrying my package battling the snow of the north or getting a tan in LA or visiting my original hometown of San Antonio, then give a friendly wave and wish him well on his cross country tour of America.

P.S. Yes Internet, this is a joke. I do actually know the FedEx driver is really spending a 3 day layover at the cheap strip bar in Gainesville.

I love watching package tracking. I honestly don't know how the system can be as bad as it is.

I'll watch packages make the trip through 6-8 states only to end up in my state, 1 day away from deliver, and then have them turn around, head 3-4 states away before making another U-turn to start their journey to me again.

The other fun one is where they just stall somewhere for 3-4 days.

I live in Scotland. I've ordered stuff from England before that took a detour through Paris. I'm sure it somehow cost the company less but it was strange none the less.

When IA was being shipped to me from Coolstuff it took 4 days to go from Orlando to Atlanta, then only 3 days to arrive to me in Maine. Not just the near border either, I live almost in Canada on the east side of the state.

Who knows what happens when packages get on delivery trucks.

Geez, can't wait to see the condition they arrive in after their "cross country / get thrown into all sorts of trucks" trip

Maybe your figures are just going on their own campaign first. There is a very special map in your pack that looks like most of the U.S. Or they are making a bunch of little hyperspace jumps to hide their true destination, pursued by the elusive fourth faction yet to be named.

I share your frustration / mild amusement watching your package tracking though.

Apparently FedEx gave up and is letting USPS deliver it. It arrived in Atlanta on Friday, then turned around and spent all of Saturday coming back here, arriving here in Tally on Sunday. The official line is that it could take 1 or 2 days to deliver so could be tomorrow or as predicted, Tuesday. Will be crossing my fingers it comes tomorrow...

Mine always hang at the depot for 2-3 days before they deliver, and they are there right now. The depot is only 1 1/2 hours away from where I live so my wife went on Friday to try and pick up the package for me, bless her soul. The response was no the package had to be delivered..... And its not scheduled to be delivered until Wednesday 25th LOL

So with that I feel your pain....

I've gotten to the point that I can't look at tracking otherwise it might aggravate me.

Ahhhh.....Smartpost. Which is a total oxymoron, if you ask me. Fedex delivers the package to one of their hubs, IE Atlanta, then lets the USPS deliver it to the customer. How I wish Coolstuff would stop using Fedex, it just irritates the customers. The good part is that once the package leaves Fedex it usually arrives faster than the estimate. So here's hoping you'll get your stuff today.

The wife says they are at home!!

Now only 3 hours till the work day ends....

Mine usually makes it to a FedEx hub about an hour away and sits for a day. Then goes to a hub about forty minutes away and sits for a day. Then travels for 7-8 hours on the truck to arrive at my local post office. If it is before 6:00 am, they deliver same day, if not then the next day. I bought something from another Florida company for something else, but close to coolstuff, that shipped USPS from the start and got my package three days sooner than the average with fedex smart post.

If it makes you feel any better, mine have sat in Billings, Montana for three days. Supposed to arrive tomorrow, but they still have half a country to travel. :(
