The title is misleading. Most likely, the license already included Episode VII (baring LFL approval, of course). The renewal of the license is good news for all of the Star Wars game lines. So, lots more X-wing coming...
I don't think I can afford all this. Good thing my wife likes Stars Wars too.

Title is very misleading. There is a big assumption that the license didn't already cover Episode VII. All that is really known is that they extended the license by a number of years and they confirmed that they will be doing products from Episode VII.
Other than those facts, everything else you've stated is pure assumption.

Initially I suspect the Episode 7 products will be stand alone ones, and not cross over to X-wing. It's not like we won't buy everything anyway. Why merge product lines when it isn't necessary, at least yet.

Assumptions like these have merit, I think. Considering the growing popularity of the new X-wing design, I think at least it will be added to the game, maybe as an Advanced X-wing. Now, one can't base one's decisions on assumptions alone, but I think it's at least fun to pretend that they're going to release Episode VII miniatures for the game. And even talking about it is a good thing because the designers who peruse the threads in their off-hours might come across this and see that there is a desire for Episode VII minis.
I expect to see miniatures from Episode VII and fall in the camp that looks forward to them as well.
