Visible details on wave 2 ships

By GAThraawn, in Star Wars: Armada

Going from the image spoiled today, it seems that a number of details regarding the new ships are visible. Obviously any of these could be mistaken or changed between now and release, but this is what seems clear to me for the MC30:

Forward battery: 3 shields, and 3 dice (all of which look Black)

Side battery: 2 shields, 3 Black dice and 2 Blue dice (!)

Rear battery: 1 shield, 1 Black die

Anti-fighter armament: 1 Blue die

Hull value: (difficult to say, but not 5. I believe it is 6)

2 Command, 1 (?) Squadron and 3 Engineering

2 Redirect tokens and 2 Evade tokens

Top speed of 3 (all the preview speed dials are set to ship's top speed)

If this is all correct, this thing seems like a monster! More firepower than a Gladiator, at the expense of some range, more hull (maybe), more defence tokens, the same shielding, the same command rating and top speed. Certainly the element I'm most impressed by is the one I think is the clearest, namely the left and right battery armaments. Don't let this frigate near your Star Destroyer!

For the Raider, not much is clear:

1 Command, top speed 3, 2 Evade tokens and 1 Brace token, and it looks like 4 Hull and an Anti-fighter armament that takes up two rows. In fact, it looks rather like there's a Black die in there, so I'd read it as 3 Blue and 1 Black.

Am I certain? Far from it, but given its specific role, it seems reasonable that it would have a higher battery armament than any ship we've seen so far. Also, it would seem to be adding another element to the meta, with the Rebels getting a high-powered short-range torpedo platform to deal heavy damage to the powerful Imperial capital ships, and the Imperials getting a beastly anti-fighter vessel.

Mon Cal Cruiser, also difficult to make out:

Forward battery: 2 Black and 1 Blue (?? Looks right, but I'm not even certain that it has 3 dice)

Side battery: 3 Black and 3 Blue (? Certainly looks like multiples of each...2 and 2 would seem rather disappointing)

3 Command, 2 top speed, 2 Redirect, 1 Brace and 1 new token

No idea what they new token is, but it would be neat if it was a "Roll" token, that let you redirect damage to the opposite hull zone, to demonstrate the MC80's classic defensive technique. Could be anything.

Imperial Star Destroyer:

Yeah, I really got nothing for this one. 3 Command, which is interesting. I had sworn I had heard somewhere that they were willing to go up to 4 Command...if not for an ISD, then for what? (Take your SSD speculation and leave, please, thank you) I can only assume 2 top speed. 5 defence tokens, including some new ones: one looks the same as the MC80, and one looks like a returning arrow. I've already speculated that the arrow may be a "Return Fire" token that lets you do some damage to the attacker, in a similar manner to Counter. Presumably, the ISD-I and ISD-II have a different token, hence the reason for 5.

Does that forward battery armament box look unusually wide to anyone else? As in, wide enough to hold 8 dice? :) Also, let's take a moment to appreciate that impressive forward arc, shall we?

hhmmmm....

Finally, the Rogues and Villains:

Imperial:

Firespray-31/Slave I: 6 Hull, 3 anti-fighter dice, 2 anti-ship dice (1 Black, 1 Blue)

YV-666/Hound's Tooth: 5 Hull

Aggressor assault fighter/IG-2000: 5 Hull

Jumpmaster 5000/Punishing One: 4 Hull

Rebel:

YT-1300/Millennium Falcon: 7 Hull, 3 anti-fighter dice, 1 anti-ship die, 2 speed/3 speed (Brace token on the Falcon)

YT-2400/Outrider: 6 Hull, 4 speed (Scatter token on the Outrider)

HWK-290/Mouldy Crow: 4 Hull, 3 speed (??)

Scurrg H-6/Havoc: 6 Hull

It looks as though many of the ships have Bomber and/or Heavy, although clearly several of them lose/gain keywords when they upgrade to their named counterparts.

This is all of course just speculation to tide us over until we get more information, or get distracted by actually having the core sets in our hands, but I hope some people can have fun with what I've been able to decipher.

Rebs getting some black dice with wave 2!

I'm assuming the first details are for the MC30c? If so it looks like it'll be the Alliance equivalent of the gladiator, and If it's rules are going to reflect the design it'll likely have a shield upgrade as well. That's probably the ship I'm most interested in personally (Largely because it comes with Carlist Rieekan).

I'm expecting the MC80 to have a lot of synergy since its the Home One design and I'm pretty sure that was the Rebel HQ for a while. No red dice though sounds a bit strange for Rebs. If it's true then I hope its durable since the trend thus far is that Alliance ships have a lower Hull Value for their points.

Fighters sound interesting but right now I think the most important detail is their points values to compare them to the current selection in wave 1.

Worth noting that this is all subject to change though since we've have had attack pools changed a few times in Wave 1 spoilers.

What images are you using to look at? I can't see diddly on the originals posted.

I'd be surprised if the ISD didn't have at least 8 forward dice. If it only had 7, it wouldn't be that much of an upgrade firepower wise over a VSD. Unless, its broadsides and rear had some more dice as well.

Edit: Ah, nevermind, found it two topics down.

And going on what Jo Jo said, I'd expect a significant broadside from the ISD, considering its heavy turbolaser batteries are on either side in more of a broadside position. Well, unless it angled its upper hull at the enemy to fire full-forward. Which, y'know, space and all.

I'd just like to point out how appropriate it is that we have GAThrawn deciphering the images for us.

I'm looking at the same images as you, just enlarged. A lot of the details are very small, but if you compare them to known images you can tell what things look like even from far away.
