Here is an odd list idea for Scum control.

The basic premise is that Dace can ion a target which then gets critical and extra damage. Then the Merc fires stress torp with predator reroll to help it not hit. The failsafe and gunner kick in. You get a 3-4 dice primary shot with reroll.

N'dru is the for quality filler in a 3-ship build.

Dace has engine to give him some post-green move flexibility. He's at PS9 but I may want to drop N'drus' illicit for a small initiative bid.

What do you think?

You're spending a lot of points trying to not hit with a stress torpedo which only works on low hulled ships, hopefully triggering Gunner in the process. You'd be better off with a Flechette Cannon and spending the points elsewhere.

I would suggest altering it like so:

Actually, I think the OP's list is better. Although its not a trick you're gonna keep up all game (and Kath does offer greater damage potential in the long run), but the combo on Dace & the mando is creative and offers a little control without any sacrifice in damage output (which is the usual weakness of control lists). The only thing I don't like is N'dru - I'd prefer a mangler scyk instead, but that's probably just personal preference.

Edit: actually, K4 droid on Dace instead of greedo is probably better since you will need boost a lot so no way to modify his attack. Drop inert damp to afford it.

I see your point but I'd argue that gunner/predator is good on its own. The extra 3 points for torp and failsafe add utility for opportune moments when ion/stress lock could turn the tide.

I've considered tactian as an alternative but I haven't found anew appealing combo yet.

The problem with flechette cannon is the limit for 1 damage. I'm guessing you put calculation on Kath for her primary weapon shots since it doesn't work with the cannon cancelling rolls.

PTL on Dace is a poor combo because his ability causes stress. K4 us good though.

The thing I like about your list is all PS7 so you can choose move & shoot order.

I do like mangle scyk and K4 suggestions. Just though 3-ship was good place for N'dru. I'll try both ways
