Wave 2 Armada, and its relation to Xwing: Specifically new Large ships.

It's clearly a Horton HO-347:

What is this game? Why have I not played this piece of Dieselpunk awesomeness yet?

That would be dust or dust tactics, much of it is out of print now though unfortunately.

The games an alternate ww2 most of it is ground and troops based with walking tank mech's. There are places still making the models I belive they do most of their stuff though kickstarters and things now and Lionsgate recently picked up the rights to make a movie based on the game.

Interesting. Though I definitely would never play Axis. I'm a Soviet girl all the way. They let women fly in combat in WW2. Very forward-thinking that Stalin.

So much wrong with that sentence.

Well they have the Soviet's too though only with Hind helicopters and nothing cool like a Sturmovik or Yak-3.

Yeah, I saw, I was super disappointed. A Yak-15 or MiG-9 would scream Dieselpunk anyway. But whatevs. I have enough Yak, MiG, LaGG, Lavochkin, Il-2, Pe-2, and other models lying around my house for one lifetime.

You'd rather have THIS:1000px-K-Wing_NEGVV.jpg

over1000px-Havoc_negvv.jpg

this?

I can understand not liking the Havoc/Scurgg but saying you'd rather have the K-wing because its "less weird" is just..... ungh.

K-wing Design Process: "What if we put like, a crap ton of engines and other nacelles on it?"

"Like, what? 3 or 4?"

"Nah, man, like, 12. Yeah, 12 would be awesome."

I wasn't sure what it was, but I love Star Wars ships with roundels.

The game is based on a comic book series. So it would be a movie of the comics most likely.

Dust isn't exactly out of print. It's a former FFG product, now being sold by Battlefront - the company who makes Flames of War. Unfortunately, they can't reproduce previously available models until all of FFG's remaining stock has been sold, which puts them in an awkward position.

If anyone's interested in knowing more, feel free to send me a private message. I play a fair amount of Dust, but I don't want to derail the thread any more than I apparently already have.

I'm not sure if we'll get Havoc, Hounds tooth and Punishing one as wave seven. Three scum large ships all in one go might be a bit much? They could pad it out some with some smaller fighters and get a few waves out of them. Guess we'll find out soon though!

People seem to think the Havoc will be a Rebel ship, actually.

It's pretty safe to say that anything you see get released for one Star Wars FFG game... is fair game for all other FFG Star Wars games (Within reason - no Star Destroyers in X-Wing lol). So all of these ships are absolutely viable. Now WHEN is the real question.

They do like their crossover in the sense of internal consistency (Armada Wave 2 has the Imperial Raider in it and we'll doubtlessly see it in the RPGs) but some things that are products of the game itself don't cross. Armada's not very conducive to cloaking so the phantom's not as likely, same goes for a lot of the S&V small ships: is there a place for them? The faction setup in the LCG: I don't expect to see a Jedi, Smugglers or Sith faction in X-wing.

I am just shocked that they detailed expansion waves for Armada (Which doesn't have a BASE game for sale yet) and Imperial Assault - and they didn't say a word about X-Wing yet. If they don't say anything about X-Wing today I think I'm going to melt.

I feel like Bossk and Dengar was a missed opportunity for a bounty-hunter buddy comedy.

That's the spin-off movie coming out after Episode 9

Anyone else surprised there was no Otana? Could scum really be turret-free?

That's WHY they aren't saying much about X-Wing (yet)

They have lots of Star Wars fans who buy their stuff

They have new and shiny Star Wars toys

They want the Star Wars fans who buy their existing Star Wars toys to buy the range of new shiny Star Wars toys as well as the existing range.

They want us to buy Armada and Assault now - then buy the Raider in a couple of months

So they give us information on the thing they want us to buy now now- and info on the thing they want us to buy in a couple of months in a couple of months.

Simple really

Yes, almost as if Armada doesn't launch this week and IA wasn't their biggest launch ever. Shocking!

Anyone else surprised there was no Otana? Could scum really be turret-free?

Not surprised at all - it's way too derivative of the Falcon to be a fit for Scum - and FFG have all but said that YT's are a Rebel thing.

Punishing One had a turret so no need to fret

Besides it's a trade show, for people in the industry. Those people are much more interested in the new products and the expansions for those products than expansions for an already established line.

Yeah but here's the thing - Armada launches next week. They are dropping expansion #2 news to a game that isn't even out yet. Alot of people are suggetsing they want you to focus on what they want you to buy NOW - but this move counters that. Same goes for Imperials Assault - Expansion Wave 1 comes out Friday - yet here they are spoiling the following wave.

There has got to be a deeper, more sinister plan as to why X-Wing Wave 7 still isn't spoiled yet. I sense the dark side in this matter.

Their not mixing up the Scurrg H-6 with the H-60 Tempest are they?

Armada schmarmada. This is an X-Wing forum, **** it. Let's do some X-Wanging.

The Havoc has a turret too.

And people think it's Rebel.

If they did add the Otana, I reckon it'd be Rebel, but the question is how you make it different from the Falcon, Outrider and Decimator.

You mean like how they had those very pretty Falcon, Firespray, Interceptor, and A-wing models on display when they released X-wing at Gencon?

Besides, someone clarified that the first presentation yesterday was about their new lines. Thus the focus on Imperial Assault and Armada, and not on X-wing and Netrunner.
