Wave 2 announced

By jimbobiii, in Star Wars: Armada

It is rebel, after all.

Sorry but I am not going to listen to your opinion on what makes a good looking Rebel ship since your ideal Rebel ship is on fire, in three pieces and falling into the gavitation pull of a near by moon. Your just a Triangle man after all, you wouldn't know sexxy if a Twi'lek purred at you, you'd just sneer at her and call her a rebel.

I like fireworks and I think twi'leks are stupid (plus there blue and sometimes green ewww)

Well, this thread escalated quickly...

And yes, the Bulwark is ugly, and saying it is cute and ugly like a pug isn't much defense, since pugs are pretty much just ugly.

But if you lit it on fire it would look pretty cool :)

Especially if happened to then careen out of control, striking the surf ace of naboo and causeing the gung gung species to go EXTINCT (at least those related jar-jar)

See that is the problem with leaks from shows like these. We get a little info and everyone goes wild and FFG won't answer the questions becuase it is not publicly official yet. So we will have to wait for the Official announcement which might be weeks to clear up the non-believers. ( or at least those holding on to all hope there will be SSD's just like X-Wing players holding on to hope the will be ISD's in X-Wing .)

The game is not even on the self which is frustrating enough without more fuel being thrown on the fire.

You do realize these two things are not the same, right? X-Wing is a dogfight game using starfighters that are theoretically scale models. Armada is a fleet game using captial ships that from the very first announcement have been clearly stated as not being to scale. An SSD in Armada makes more sense both thematically and mechanically than a Star Destroyer in X-Wing could.

We can probably stop the debate about if ISD or MC80's are Large Base because we all know it will be large based, everyone who says otherwise is just trying to throw oil on the fire.

The important thing to take away from this is that ISDs are freaking massive! They look to be about 2x the size (a little less than) of the Vic. They are awesome! Can't wait to get them in my hands!!!!!

No, we don't. Speculation, even if it is based on logic, is still not the same as knowledge. And I'd appreciate you not accusing other people of dishonesty just because they have a different opinion than you.

If an SSD does come out can I (politely) shove it in you face?

If an SSD comes out for Armada, I'll buy it, top it with gravy, and eat the SOB.

None of the rebel ships are pretty- bulwark, Nebulon-B, Quasar-Fire... the only lineage that can claim any artistry are the MC series for being fancy blimps.

I'm not phased at all by the Rebels getting butt-ugly unusual spaceships. I'm fine with it as long as the Empire gets the clean-cut wedges of doom.

See, there you rebels go again. All high and mighty about sentient rights and a multi-species society, but when it comes to the totalitarian human being, you just have no respect for our sense of aesthetic; trying to marginalize us.

That's discrimination!

How can you be so intolerant and bigoted?

I'm going to tell you the real inconvenient truth: the totalitarian human being is the most discriminated-against part of galactic society, and you rebels are the real bigots out there.

Wait a second, I thought you worked for HNN not Fox News.

Yes.

Don't worry it's in space so it's weightless :)

Technically, surely that's /almost/ weightless, since the affect of gravity decreases exponentially and can therefore never reach zero?

In the middle between two poles of gravity it can be just zero. Its an unstable equilibrium though.

new pictures about wave 2?

Is it likely that such a point exists, where gravity from every source in the universe perfectly cancels itself out? Genuine question.

It is not only likely, it is certain. Of course, trying to locate that point could be quite the chore. If the Big Bang theory weren't missing so much matter, we could probably just backtrack to find the origin point and there it would be. But in a universe with dark matter, and small bits of matter randomly popping into existence for infinitely small amounts of time I'm afraid the location of said "center" point is going to remain a mystery.

and what about the noise floor of gravity? wouldnt most places be at just the noise floor due to the sparse distribution of gravity centers anyway?

You just called Nebulon-Bs ugly. Them there's fighting words.

Just you wait til I make all my lists of nothing but Nebulon-Bs and watch your Star Destroyers evaporate.

Sure, which means the predicted location would have a much larger margin of error. Unfortunately, with current theories and instrumentation we can't predict the location at all. At least not with any level of precision more specific than "somewhere thattaway".

I doubt men vs will be able to take the star destroyers, they will be too easily destroyed, I mean they only have like 6 TOTAL SHIELDS and even the Vic has the fire power to kill one in a single volloy given the right circumstances so good luck with killing my destroyers...

*pew pew* " Oh the Humanity!";)

Don't bring your numbers and facts to this argument. That ISD is going down in one shot from my A-Wing squad.

*pew pew* " Oh the Humanity!";)

No a-wing squad can kill my Sta r destroyer in 1 shot! They are for to tough

(Now the ssd on the other hand...)

Plus we are debating nebulon-b vs star destroyer not a-wing vs stardestroyer

Search your feelings, you know it is true

Come join me and together we can CRUSH the rebellion And Rule the GALAXY!!!

I said stop with your facts and hear my hyperbole!

Ah the age old argument of, " If the facts contradict your opinion they must be disposed of. (Like a Nebulon starship.)"

O ne on one a Neb-B would lose to a Star Destroyer true but a group of two or three neb-Bs would be a much different story if commanded well.

Of course, as fun as this is, it doesn't /really/ speak to the topic at hand, which is that one could somehow 'lift' an SSD being that it is weightless. Something just being weightless doesn't account for inertia and momentum. If you pushed against an SSD in space, the acceleration you would give it would be immeasurably small, and you would accelerate in the opposite direction immeasurably less than if you had pushed off against something that hadn't moved at all.

Oh, blush. Your right. F=m*a i guess. it doesnt even matter if the SSD has any form of acceleration like g already, your influence on it is just m_1*a_1 = F_push = m_2*a_2.

I like the part about "you are not on topic, but ..." :) i guess thats somehow how we came to that point.

is the game released yet ? :D
