Who is Kayn Somos?

By patox, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Probably some named Trooper, most likely an original character for the campaign.

There's an expansion? Where is this from?!

There's an industry show in Las Vegas this week.

According to someone I know at the show, he is supposed to be a rougelike trooper and a villain.

BOBA FETT!! WOOOOOO!!!

Droids! Yay!

Kayn Something! Wait, who?

Still no Leia. Hrmph.

Half of that I expected. The other half... curious.

:D

We all knew he was coming but I'm still super pumped that Boba Fett is for real!

Also a named stomrtrooper is awesome.

And a new campaign already!

:D :D :D :D

And all (likely) uniques, meaning no need to buy multiple copies of the packs.

I'm so excited for this I just can't even. Can't. Even.

Of course, I'd be more excited if wave one were already out... :P

A named Stormtrooper is fantastic (If that's what he actually is), Boba Fett is of course a must have, more droids are always cool...

Fantasy Flight has somehow perfected the ability to appeal to me. At this point I'm considering just signing over a portion of my paycheck and saying: "Give me one of everything ever."

Still no Leia. Hrmph.

This was all very exciting - until I came to the no Leia realization. Fingers crossed that she's in the box???

It looks like a sand trooper to me.

Yup, sandtrooper shoulder pad makes sense. I can't work out his head/helmet situation though. Looks a bit like a regular helmet, but seems way too small, or cropped, or the top part is a different color.

Blurry picture analysis: a staple of miniature/board gaming!

I want to go one further, it looks like the 501 st Legion.

Coming to think of it they have a coloured pauldron too. However I'm still convinced this is a Sand Trooper.

Edit:

Just realised what I'm saying is these twin shadows are Boba Fett and a Jango Fett clone! Perhaps anyway, would also make them sort of twins...

I was just thinking maybe it's another clone of Jango Fett that survived. Him and Boba could be the twin shadows. Unless the twin shadows is talking about the two shadows cast by characters on Tatooine (where there are twin suns?)

It works on so many levels!

Great call on the 501st, that would explain why his head looks short, the blue markings blending in with the blue graphics.

My friend at the show confirmed that Tatooine was mentioned as part of the campaign... sandtroopers seem like a good bet.

It does kind of look like Jabba's Palace on fire in the background

Oooo, good call! I hadn't thought of that. That even seems somewhat likely. Here's to hoping!

After zooming in on a better screen he just has a regular Stormtrooper helmet.

I'd be really surprised if Leia is hidden in the box. I bet she'll be a seperate expansion in conjunction with a future major/mini expansion.

Slave Leia in the box lol

Who is Kayn Somos?

He is the legendary, galaxy and time hopping love child of Kanye West and John Stamos

I'm not so sure about that. Each pack shows a face-down deployment card underneath the face-up ones. I'm going to guess that those are non-unique cards that can be used with the figure. For example, Kayn may come with a generic "Stormtrooper Officer" and R2-D2 may come with a generic "Astromech Droid." I'm not sure about Fett, though. That seems odd. I suppose it could just be a generic "Mandalorian Mercenary."

But if you look at the wave-1 images, IG-88, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and the Royal Guard Elite Champion do not have face-down deployment cards. Weiss does, and we know he comes with a generic AT-ST card.

Maybe those are new Skirmish Upgrades

That never even crossed my mind. It would be interesting but I'd rather these guys had a unique mini to help them stand out. Then the generics could have a different mini if they are ever released (not that anyone would say no to Mandalorians).
