Woot! Just saw these on the twitter ;)

I need more info! Also I need Boba Fett right this instant!

I really like that C3PO and R2-D2 are packaged together.

I really like that C3PO and R2-D2 are packaged together.

It's a nice bonus. A lone R2-D2 pack would feel lacklustre.

I wonder if this mini campaign will be playable as additional side missions in the core set. I believe that is how Descent Second Edition worked, but before the mini campaigns it never had side missions?

I imagine it will all be playable together.

Ah, are you thinking they will share the same base? Effectively being one unit?

Edit:

You are talking about the mini campaign. My bad!

Thank the Maker! :)

I imagine the C3PO and R2-D2 figures will be separate... but they could be the first duo mini. Who knows!?

Arglebargle!

So excited!

The least energetic googling possible suggests that Kayn Somos is a new character? Looks to be in trooper armor, can't work out what's happening in his neck/head area though.

From what my friend at the show told me, he's a rougelike trooper and a villain... probably the mini campaign's main villain, like Weiss.

Those who play D2e... do you have any idea what might come in that box?

I'm guessing a campaign book, that's a dozen or so story and side missions. Some new tiles for those missions, some skirmish stuff too since it's IA.

But are we likely to see any new models? Since Boba is being sold separately, I'm assuming he wouldn't be in there.

But $40 for a dozen missions and some tiles seems a bit high...

I'm thinking it comes with 3-4 new heroes. I think that's how D2E rolls but I'm not sure.

Neat. I assume the 'twin shadows' are him and Boba. Sounds like it could have more of a 'you are being hunted' vibe than the current campaign where you are actively engaging the Empire with a specific goal in mind.

I'm glad they are parsing out the 'big name' characters. Would be silly to throw Leia, Lando etc. all out at once.

I'm guessing that R2 and 3PO will be seperate? R2 updating his space blog while 3PO gets lost on the other side of the base/ eaten/ scrapped is pretty much required.

If I remember correctly, there were new heroes and new mobs in D2e expansions... so maybe different types of troopers?

I'd bet money there are at least a few models in there as well. Maybe usable in skrmish, maybe not, but it's hard to create a new setting without throwing in a few beasties at the very least.

Awseome news on the expansion, but I think there was a bigger bit of news here:

https://twitter.com/thedicetower/status/577926022261186560

I think we all expected it after the Asmodee merger, but it's good to have it stated as fact.

So, to guess at content, the best price comparison is the Manor of Ravens expansion which is also $39.95. (SW royalties might make direct price comparisons unfair?).

Anyway, that apparently includes 10 figures, 60 cards and 16 double sided map tiles. 2 of those figures are heros, which sounds about right.

What does it say?! It's a broken link for me.

EDIT: Also, when can we expect to learn a little bit more about this? Are they talking about it in detail at the expo, or are we going to have to go weeks or months just having a picture?

Dead link for the tweet?

Generally, the small expansions for Descent have 2 heroes and 2 monster groups.

Yup.

I'm assuming it's about FFG talking about how they have renewed the license for a signficant amount of time.

I really hate twitter:

FFG has renewed Star Wars license for many years. Includes Episode 7.

I think it's that they renewed their license

Edit: Ninja'd... you have to follow the twitter account already for it to work.
