So far I'm only on my Slave I repaint. Went with some better colors and weathering that more closely matches the screen version of the ship. Still plenty to do on it, but the core colors are down.

That's the biggest mistake FFG has made in the painting of these ships so far. Making the "shoulders" of Slave I gray instead of olive green?
Looks good!
Magnetized most of the ships I own. Need more magnets for small ships, and the Slave I will be done later as it requires a bit more work to fit the magnet on.

I want to get magnets set up like that, just so I can do a stop-motion video of a match that shows them banking into their turns.

That is so neeeerrrrdy! ![]()
I love it.
I'm wearing my TIE interceptor pilot jacket while I'm teaching today. Nerdy doesn't even begin to cover it.

I know a guy who teaches primary (English, I think), and has various high quality Star Wars tats, especially on his lower leg. He has a great one of Yoda, and usually wears those 3/4 length pants, even at school. When it's a kids birthday, he brings in a bowl of candy/chocolate, which is typically something like this;

He was also a local DJ, going by the handle DJ Yoda.
And is opening a lightsabre academy in my local area. Might just have to go along and check it out.
Me, not so openly nerdy, other than my range of t-shirts. lol
I absolutely love your Slave 1 as is, for some reason. It feels straight out of an animated series, and definitely stands out.
I don't know but I kinda feel like your Slave-1 looks like a toy. Now this isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just the first impression I get.
It very much looks like the old Action Fleet toy. Giving it a black wash and further weathering will definitely fix that. Upon closer scrutiny I need to sand the mold line in the cockpit more, as it still catches light when seen from the left facing it.
I've never had such anxiety as trying to choose color schemes for projects, let alone for things like Scum and Villainy where each ship will have it's own unique theme. My Rebels scheme shameless stolen from urifici on the X-Wing message boards with some slight hue changes. Wracking my brain on how to paint the HWK-290 still. Anything but brown is an upgrade I guess.
Still getting used to painting such small panels. This is a major shift in painting techniques from my 15 years of painting Warhammer Fantasy models. Luckily the grey I'm using as the base color for most panels covers up errant paint quite nicely. By the end of this endeavor I'll be a pro at using Tamiya masking tape, I swear. Still not looking forward to my next 2 Firespray ships. **** those contours to hell!

Got the masking off my small Rebel ships. A little touchup will be needed, but overall happy with out they came out.

Nice paint scheme. Reminds me of the Blue Angels x-wings another guy on the forums has. Though those are UCLA colors, which is cool.
Edited by NightshrikeGot some work done on the Slave I tonight. Added some mild edge highlighting on the red and green areas, a little detail color, and a nice dirty wash to bring out the line details. Going to file down the cockpit again as the mold line is still noticeable. Not sure what I'll be doing for the back side engine details. Need to practice airbrushing engine glow perhaps.
