Those are some insanely good wins and ratios man, well done! I managed to beat Stewards Fear and Siege of Cair Andros nightmare once each (luckily both on the first go somehow but have not had further attempts or I would probably have 1 win from 3 or 4 attempts for them both lol) but thats it, I have gotten demolished against all the others I've tried so far. Lost 4 or 5 attempts against Druadan Forest, about the same amount against Peril in Pelargir, two against Into Ithilien (almost instant losses/concedes may I add) and several against Encounter at Amon Din. Morgul Vale I dare not even attempt as the normal quest is more than hard enough for me and often takes many attempts to get a win.
Tried Assault on Osgiliath last night, even double sneak attack gandalf first turn (once during quest phase, once during combat) killing one enemy and wounding another so that Haldir could finish it off in staging during combat did little to help and I was eventually overcome simply by threat/location lock. Having the single copy of Mumak appear within a few turns of the start did not help one bit and because I could not yet defend against it that was 4 threat in staging every turn just from this stupid elephant.
I think that, for now at least, until player cards have crept up a bit more in power (or alternatively at least until I sleeve all my encounter cards) I'm going to just leave the HoN and AtS nightmare quests alone. I used to really enjoy nightmare quests but am finding these new ones that little bit too hard and too frustrating because of the difficulty. I think more than anything it is the setup required and the fact I only have sleeves on my player cards (not encounter cards as well) so after each loss there is a fair bit of reset, reshuffling and tidying up to be done especially with the different colour and texture that we are given with Nightmare cards. With just how fast you can lose or how easily you can have starting encounter cards/player cards that will make it next to impossible to win with these new nightmare quests I find that you are spending almost as much time sorting through the cards, resetting the quest and shuffling cards as you are playing it.
Really hoping they tone it back down that tiny little bit after HoN and AtS and I'm assuming they will solely based on the fact that VoI and Ring Maker are a far easier and far less punishing expansion and cycle.
