Favorite Firespray Loadout

Maybe? With the resurgence of nimble arc-dodgers, sure. If low agility ships like the B-Wing, Y-Wing, and any of the larger turreted ships remain contenders in the current meta, then perhaps not so much.

I won't disagree that it's not as useful against a Y or Z (though it does help at R3 and protects a horrible roll), I found it useful in every one of my last 10 game or so when I started using it. Obviously it was good against IG88s (and the main reason I started taking it) but it also worked well against YT 1300/ (they either cancel hits with all those tokens or let it though) and it has been very useful against the 2400s and Deicmators with Isard and or Kenkirk. It's also nice that it is actionless, and I find firesprays blocked easily. Just my experience, and mileage may vary depending on your meta, certainly.

Normally, I would agree with Waagh, and say Recon spec is the way to go, but I've been toying with an Imperial stress build lately, which takes up the crew slot with Tactician. Kath + Tactician + Marksmanship + Experimental Interface + Cluster Missiles dumped 3 stress (crit on the second missile got through) onto a Phantom the other night. My opponent was...... vexed. Still not 100% satisfied with it ( I have a couple of variations I want to try still), but interesting.

I normally agree with myself as well.

Stress Scarlet: (imp Kath)

mangaler

tactician

V.i.

Engine up grade(if you can afford)

Double stress!!! Plus crits and RUN phantoms RUN

and tactitian still dishes out stress from the rear

It also doesn't need an action, which is awesome since a lot of control type lists are doing well in this meta

very excited to see if this works ^_^

after the fun of rebel control lists, I was hoping to get something sort of similar going on in the imperial side of things

Ooh, I like the sound of Emon Azzameen with an Ion Cannon. Stun the enemy, then drop a mine/bomb and watch their ship drift helplessly into the explosives!

Experimental Interface looks like a great buy on a bomb-heavy Firespray. It lets you perform a normal action and drop a bomb in the same turn, letting your guns fire at full effectiveness while bombing. Unfortunately it takes up the same slot as an Engine Upgrade, but in Emon's case the Interface seems more useful.

I haven't heard anyone mention Krassis Trelix yet. Has anyone else tried him, and what were your experiences? He performed well for me as an ion cannon platform, and the re-roll helped me land several shots that otherwise would have missed. I did lose that game by a hair (my opponent had nothing left but a shieldless Luke Skywalker) so maybe he would've performed better with a different loadout.

my last tournament build had Kenkirk in the decimator and then krasis trelix with hlc and recon spec

he kicked but and I went undefeated in the tournament but had to leave before the cut to top 4

(still ended in 4th place and had the highest margin of victory after 2 forfeited losses from leaveing)
