- Auto-Thrusters (obviously too)

- Red Guard Title (only the best will protect the Emperor)

- Hull Upgrade (bedder have a thicker metal hull if some creepy dark lord knocks with the force, right?)

=> 35 Points

Firespray-31 Kath Scarlet

- Veteran Instincts (cause she's a lady, right Whisper)

- Mangler Cannon (did anybody say something about a nasty crit ability?)

- Tactician (this will be a stressy day for you dude!)

- Engine Upgrade (gues who has the fastest ship in the universe?)

=> 49 Points

TIE-Fighter - Dark Curse

Having a Curse in a grimn future full of wars ... oh wait a minute ... yeah something about a grudge ... **** it ... eh you know what i mean right ?

=> 16 Points

That hull upgrade really wishes it were a shield. Unfortunately not meant to be....

Ah, this is a tough one for sure. Soontir really needs a Shield Upgrade over a Hull Upgrade. Honestly, between the two, I'd go with a Stealth Device if you can't take Shield. His actions + four evade die is going to force anyone to have a very tough time hitting him. Engine Upgrade is something I dislike on Firesprays personally (call me crazy), but your list is built extremely well for Kath's ability.

I like it except I would use stealth over Hull upgrade.

Yeah. SD makes Soontir nearly impossible to hit at range 3 and hard for a turret at any range when he's outside of arc.

Hull is extra insurance against Vader crew, but I don't see Vader crew run all that often.

I actually preffer Hull (Shield would be bedder, i agree!) because of Deci-Vader, which is quite popular in our Meta right now.

I'am a big Fan of Engine Upgrade - since it saves me the bacon many times and also helps to get the right angle for some good shots!

Mhhhh ... another option would be this:

Soontir (PTL, RG-Title, Thrusters and Shield - 36 points)

Kath (Calculation, Mangler, Recon - 46 points)

Dark Curse - 16 points

98 points for Ini-Bid.

Well ... Kath with Recon is quite tanky and also can use it with Calculation to send more Crits and my philosophy is that crits can change a game. Also 2 Crits with Mangler means that there is a higher chance of cancling one and triggering her ability. Well ... without Tactican i can't double Stress an enemy and without eninge upgrade i'll have to trust the dice in cage situations.

Also Soontir feel a little bit stronger since Vader will knock on the Shield first ... but also it's a little bit vulnerable to Rebel Captive a.s.o - limiting his movement options.

If you are really really worried about reb captive, you could change calculation to decoy, however, Soontir is not totally screwed by captive (don't use PtL) and take your free focus when you declare target (and kill it quick or save it to last...). Having said that, 2 PS 9 shots with the 2 stress potential in your original list is powerful vs. Phantoms, so if you see them a lot, you should probably stick with that list. If phantoms are not as common, then your second list might be better
