I've been putting trying to put together a good Kath scum build, and i put this together the other day and flew it against dual aggressors and it did the job with ease, I lost my aggressor first and kath bit the bullet and took out both opposing IG's herself.

My personal preference for this list is Kath with hlc,predator, and hot shot blaster, and ig88D with the same set of upgrades.

This makes Kath a terrifying 4 dice with auto reroll out of the front or the back, and ig a fast gunship with reroll and a bit of flanking protection.

I also wanted to know how viable a IG/Kath build would be. Here's my list:

yea ive been debating putting the hlc on kath, that would make her a ver heavy hitter. i may drop my ptl & eu and try it a couple times.

I flew this last week and it worked almost too well again it was against dual aggressors, and the match was over in 25 minutes. Whisper does his thing hangs out range 3 and out of arc and deals his 3-4 hits every times, and Kath shots first with the mangler i turn 1 hit to a crit it gets evaded and they gain a stress, then i hit again with primary weapon with target lock & focus.

you realize Ysanne would be a complete waste of points on a 2 hull ship, right? She is good on a decimator, questionable on a firespray and totally pointless on anything else.

yea i have thought about that, I'm leaning towards rebel captive now. Maybe helps detour people from shooting at Whisper first. the game i flew this with i never had to use Ysanne anyway both agressors were gone after the 3rd firing round.

I have never been a huge fan of cannons on any firespray.

I might be wrong here, but I thought you can't use a secondary weapon in your auxilliary firing arc. Is that true?

You are correct secondary weapons are only out of the firesprays front arc. But scum Kath's ability gives her 1 additional dice out of her rear so with hlc in the front she is throwing at least 4 dice in both directions

I came up with a similar list for Kath and Whisper

Kath with Predator, Mangler Cannon, Engine Upgrade, and Mara Jade

Whisper with Veteran Instincts, Fire Control System, Advanced Cloaking Device, and Rebel Captive.

I noticed that I had 6 points left over, so I added some more stuff to Kath, namely the Andrasta title and three Seismic Charges.

yea that is the way i have whisper set up now. ive been debating mara jade over gunner, it would be a hateful stress dealing build and hard hitting.

There's a list that I'm dying to run that's very similar to this except that it uses Boba instead of Kath.

The idea here is to get Boba up in the front line, hopefully drawing as much aggro from the opponent as possible. Then keep the aggressor at range 2-3 and pick off the enemies one by one. I haven't play tested it yet, but that's the idea.

I had a tourney last weekend , and ran with the scum kath & igg-88b, and took 2nd out of 21 people. i went 3-1 with 3 100-0 wins which helped me climb back up after a first round loss, and also got me most overall points destroyed.

This list I havent been playing wiht for a couple weeks now and it has proven itself many times. I do prefer Kath over Boba in this build, her rear arc is just too hateful to pass up.

I'm not understanding using HLC with IG-B ... I'd be afraid of losing your pilot ability when you are at range 1 and IGs can often thrive maintaining range 1 on a target ... I'd either switch to IG-C or D ... or if you wan to fly the B use a Mangler

IG's work better in pairs I think. I have a pretty solid build that i posted earlier. You could easily tweak it to your liking.

Yea HLC is only a range 2-3 shot but the 4 dice at hard to hit ship at range 3 is very valuable, and granted a range 1 shot on a ship i wont get another shot but with the FCS i more than likely already have a target lock and focus so my range 1 4 dice will hit, And when I do rarely miss range one if i have another range 2-3 shot on a ship ill take it. 1 of my matches last weekend i had a target lock range 2 shot on a Decimator but i also had a range 1 shot on an interceptor that was parked on a rock, so i took the range 1 and if it hit, it would have hit and if i missed i would have taken my second shot one the Decimator, but my range 1 shot dealt out 2 hits & 1 crit with no re-roll, and the interceptor dropped blanks. HLC is my preferred cannon on any of my Aggressor builds its just too powerful and can 1 shot alot of ships, where as the mangler doesnt 3 attack dice against 3 defense dice at range 3 even if you roll all hits it can be stopped, and with HLC rolling all hits, 1 is getting thru.

Yeah, but only inexperienced players are going to engage your IG88B with HLC+FCS at range 3. I mean seriously, that is just asking to get blown up. A smart opponent will engage you at R1 where your ability turns off AND you lose the benefit of autothrusters. This is not as hard as it sounds when your opponent has higher PS than you, or is flying a swarm of low PS ships that can afford to fly aggressively at you.

It has done very well, i have gone 10-2 with this list thus far; its very survivable for a dual big ship build, especially with the rise of the big turret ships & Super Dash i do miss a 2nd range 1 shot on occasion but the damage i can deal out while they come at me i cant pass up especially against a swarm, which i thought personally a swarm would crush this but with kath & IG hitting hard and consistent i take 1-2 ships off the table each round of firing and swarms haven't focused on the IG, kath is a easier target & more threatening to them. And the IG is maneuverable and fast and his ability is vicious and what i am already seeing people will take the damage from the first shot in order to avoid more from the second, at range 1 you shot first with 4 dice and its stopped a 2nd shot with 3 isn't much better odds. It's my experience I've seen the ability to throw 4 dice at all ranges is key in damage output, especially against the large ships meta going on. It has been working for me against alot of builds and in tourney play.

Had another local spring tourney this weekend, I put Kath & IG to the test once more, it was smaller only 13 people, i took 2nd place again, i went 3-1 losing at the final table to my friend running a 8 Z-95 swarm, and it was a close one, my 3 wins were again 100-0 sweeps. my margin of victory/point destroyed was again the most. I am now 14-5 with this build & have 9 100-0 wins. The final match against the swarm was the first match i would have benefited from have Boba in there over Kath.

Im not sold on VI IG, I would drop the charge to up it to PTL, or something of the sort, but thats just me, have you found that PS 8 helps?

yes the 8ps on the IG has proven most useful for me. There are alot of dual IG's or single IG's out there right now, and i have flown again them still at the 6ps and they go down in a hurry with mine firing first. I Thought about PTL but having FCS really helps already having the TL on someone and i either boost for a better shot or focus. And Super Dash can tear up any IG but firing first on Dash wih IG & Kath I take him down in 2 rounds of firing.

With Regionals in my area coming up next month i have really started hammering down on my list, and getting a lot of practice in. Critiquing my flying and finding weaknesses of my build, i have played 2 tourneys with it, 2nd place in both with largest margin of victory. i have recently changed it up in my last few matches, so currently the list stands as:

Having the PTL on Kath is still great and I may go back, the ability to have 3 actions each turn is great with the help from the K4 droid giving me a TL, and fire power is there, but i feel like there could be more, so i dropped PTL & seismic charge. I did you the charge a lot but only just because i could or for fun. I used it several times as a combo with her Intertial dampner even tho i took a damage i cause 1 and stayed place for the better range 1 rear arc shot. As for PTL especially in this last tourney i found myself not using it as much, I wasn't needed that 2nd action, or with Eaden starting to pop up and get that extra dye against me. so i was thinking of putting Mangle on her to strengthen the front arc as well, but instead at the moment I wanted to try Opportunist and it has proved to be plain & simple hateful, it help both arcs, and make the rear even more deadly. I ran it against a 3 b wing & eaden build, and also a 7 tie swarm, this made both of my ships hit even harder now, and it dice numbers the ability to drop most if not all small ships in 1 round of firing, and the chance to 1 pop swarm ships.

This is just something i wanted to try and work with on Kath, and also to help me not rely on PTL to get all of my actions and fly more solid.
