AAA YT2400

By The Duke 1701, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Ok, so let's try this:

A Wing with refit x2

Jake with rockets, autothrusters, veteran instincts

Wild Space Fringer, title, mangler cannon, tactical jammer

100pts

I don't like meta lists, but I try to stay somewhat competitive.

Use the two As for blocking, Jake chases phantoms, YT uses the turret anyway he can. The tactical jammer was something to use up my last point on. Could have gone Nien Numb for more green forwards? Critiques and thoughts welcome! Thanks!

Your Jake setup is perfect. Rockets synergizes well with his ability and at PS nine he is a force to be reckoned with....he doesn't hit as hard w/o outmaneuver after Prockets are gone, but he can still be a pain to those expensive arc dodgers out there for a fraction of the cost.

The only thing I would recommend is consider leaving tactical jammer off unless you really plan to use it (or practice a bit with it first). The reason behind this is that your A-Wings are so fast they will be going out to block and not be utilizing it AND you might want that initiative bid for Jake against other PS nines. I wouldn't fill the space just to fill it when you have a PS nine guy where initiative could make or break your Jake's effectiveness.

I've won numerous games with Jake kitted out just like you have it (before autothrusters though) and it was because I had the initiative.

Overall looks like a fun list that could be effective if used right. Your biggest problem might be another group of high PS ships, in which you want to take out with Jake and his Prockets and some good mangler cannon shots. Don't be afraid to TL one turn and focus the next to get the most out of taking out those high agi guys.

Another nicety about using Fringer in something like this is that when you focus action most of your opponent's ships will shoot first so you can save it for D if you need, and use it for O if you didn't need it for D. That should keep you around a little longer than a higher PS 2400.
