Hi guys ! I post my French Nats deck that I won last weekend. Our organizer hadn't include the last ban hammer so it was the last time to abuse of Chun-li, bitter rival and other cheated stuff. I choose to run Akuma because it's my favourite character, I played him last French nats and lost again Mr Hewitt with his Mai deck in half-round (what amazing battle Matt !) and run him in the last Uk PotM when I lost because of diversity rule.

This version is like a swiss knife, with a lot of possibilities. The only thing that could break this game is Lesser of Many Evils and without Olcadan & Chester I must had Oral Dead and Dead for One Thousands Years to cut off in the main build. Another problem is Tag Along but a lot of things break this option. I choose to not include some lot of Haxx because only one Destiny shut off some Anti-k' or some seclusion and I wouldn't had all my eggs in the same basket, that's why I ran some No Mercy in my sideboard to 'force' the haxx on one check, the main target.

Explaination of some tricks and choice:

Valeria's Shop to play some stuff off symbol or to expansive like No memories or DfOTY during opponent's turn. Body of Souls to have some recursion for Spiral Arrow to lock each turn, or had in my hand Tiger fury. Stand Off because with Akuma first E it's only stupid ! MAC because play willful or BRT is bad

Well now it's time to think Akuma different, this one is tri-symbol with a LOT of ways to chain card, chain sometimes in Death with SoC, really disturbing for your opponent. But Akuma is versatile, you could play him one hundred differents ways and I think it's interessing but never forget about his stupid first E with Heel Snipe !

This is actually somewhat similar to my build that won the lubbock regional, except mine was mono void. I really thought about doing more with it, but I was on a kick of trying to prove void could work at the time. Tiger Fury was something I was going to use in my next build i did with it, when I made it void/fire, but this seems like a very effective build (I used Kuzuryu Reppa, Spiral Arrow, and Heel Snipe).

nice very nice, u still planning on taking him after the new banned list. (part of me hopes not as i wanna be the only akuma at uk nats ), Tri symbol is def the way to head with him though he's just a monster.

yes Mark I'll think to keep him in spite of the new banned list. But I don't know if I'll play him for UK nats Finally I think Tri-symbol Akuma is the way to manage every kind of game in front of him. And Void coupled with Fire make some sparks !

You'd better be careful 'cause he might end up being banned, no? And most people are now expecting him after the results he's made

I started playing yesterday, I like akuma, I generally just put together 1 deck at a time for most games that aren't magic (had too many die on me . )

Don't tell me it's a bad beginner deck cause it's too complex, complexity just makes it interesting.

Sure it's complex but like other CCG, control deck must be in environement to have different kind of playing. If you want to play him, play it !! I think you must have fun, it's a game after all !!

Yup Nekuro, it could be ban, sure. But I play him because I love him And remember of Chun-Li, lot of techniques and meta could break this game before her banning but finally this character stays a top tier and I think it will be play by some players in tournaments.

I can get cards, I'm not terribly worried about that aspect.

So what cards in this list are getting hit by the most recent ban? I have been scouring google and the only banned list I could find was the one in the rules forum, but it didn't seem to be updated as bitter rivals isn't on it...and I have been informed that that card is getting the axe.

I don't want to buy banned stuff :-p

To nice pilot a control deck you need playtime, over and over to know how make really good use of abilities. It's not the cards who win the game, it's the skill of the player too I think. When I started with Akuma, I tried to focus all my build around the haxx and I played sometimes his first E. At the last French Nats I lost because I never used this ability. And the first time you face off the opportunity to deal with Akuma's first enhance, it's not easy.

Cards hits by the ban are Tiger Fury that's become Sagat only, Juni's Spiral Arrow (ban), Bitter Rivals (ban) and Rejection (ban). My best advice is to try a different build and if you want an aggro deck style or control.

Hmm, that's a big list of banning's. it seems to be a lot harder with one shot people without tigers fury.

Sadly I have very little card knowledge at this point. Which is why I'm looking for a list . I have found that the best way to get into games (for me at least) is to find a strong list, buy it up, play it...and learn cards through playing.

Learning a game well enough to build from scratch is a daunting task without having stuff :-p. and buying boxes for a game with this many sets is pretty ineffecient.

If I wanted to play this deck, what would you replace the banned/errtta's cards with?

Basically I want to buy up a list, run it a bit, then after I know how it works a little better make changes to reflect my playstyle...but learning the game first seems important.

And cards help win games, I'm not going to last long trying to play this game with a starter, getting smashed because your deck only has mid-blocks and 50% attacks isn't exactly fun.

I've been around the block with a million games, I need a strong list to start, so I can understand the game well enough from there to run the deck-building gambit and start brewing up my own lists

so if you can help me out, I would appreciate it.
