Any warship modelers?

By Kyrios Mirage, in X-Wing Off-Topic

I've been building model warships for years, but I thought I'd try something new: http://www.squadron.com/1-700-KA-Models-Mutsu-Wooden-Deck-KMMD70003-p/kmmd70003.htm

After opening it, however, I realized that it doesn't come with directions of any sort, so I'm not sure what to do. Does anybody have experience with these? If so, any suggestions?

Thanks, gang!

I'd assume it just goes over any exposed deck. But it is odd that there's no instructions of any sort. Can you email the manufacturer?

Yeah, it gets laid on top of the kits deck. I'm trying to figure out attachment, whether I'm supposed to glue it, or something else. I sent Squadron a message last night, since I purchased it from them. I haven't tried the manufacturer yet, though I explored their website (found nothing).

nope just 1/72 scale aircraft and space stuff...

I read it as a replacement deck for an existing model (the aoshima). Perhaps, if you have their aoshima model you can buy this deck as an optional extra to replace the stock deck that comes with the model, it appears it has a wood panelling design.

I think that's a piece for the upcoming Epic ship for the next X-Wing faction.

It says it's self adhesive. Maybe there is a removable film on the bottom?

It's way too thin to be able to support the superstructure. Only about the thickness of 2-3 sheets of paper.

Looking at it last night, I discovered that that was the case. They certaintly went out of their way to disguise it! Thanks for the help, gang!
