"Faction Pure" OCD?

By Eryx_UK, in Warhammer 40,000: Conquest

When I build a deck, let's say for Ragnar Blackmane, I want all my units to be Space Wolves or generic marines. But that isn't possible, I don't think it is even doable for Ultramarines despite the number of cards they have right now. It certainly isn't an option for the Craftworlds or Chaos forces.

It's only a small OCD niggle but I really want the option of playing "faction pure" in my decks. Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me?

Given the nature of the game, FFG are unlikely to ever cater to this specific kind of preference. The number of factions in the game would have to be ridiculous before such a thing was realistic.

Alternatively, wait a few years for the cardpool to grow. Right now the game is in its infancy. Add a few hundred new cards and you might be able to build your Spaces Wolves/Vostroyan/Ulthwé deck. It might or might not be super-competitive, but I imagine the option will eventually exist for the most popular tabletop armies.

There's no question about it. The more popular sub-factions will eventually have enough cards to fill out a deck. As an example, you can already build a Chaos deck with just over half the cards being Nurgle or Nurgle related. It's probably the same or even more so the case for the Ultramarines.

It isn't something I expect from FFG, just something that gnaws on my OCD at times. I was just curious how many others felt the same.

Give it time. Eventually FFG will print enough cards.

Or you could play Tyranids when they come out. ;)

Id say go Nids. I feel the chance we will see single-faction decks soon is quite small altough it's likely that SM will be the first one to do so because of the many Events/Supports they have that care about SM bodies.
