I want to make my own 3x3' and 6x3' custom playmats. I tried one through bannerbuzz.ca, but it looks really bad with a lot of streaking.

Can anyone recommend a decent printer, preferably in Canada? I'm looking to print vinyl playmats, similar to the gale force 9 ones.

I don't think it would be worth the headache to make your own.

You can try BannersOnTheCheap.com, I had one made and the print was fine. Not super precise, I mean it's large format printing on vinyle, but no streaking or anything like that.

Wait until they have a free shipping deal, they come around fairly often.

a custom mat made by a friend of mine.

i chose the image myself and he laser printed it onto a thin rubber mat. There is a small amount of 'ghosting' which actually gives the image a slightly 3D effect although it is hard to pick up unless you look closely.

im not big on using planets or asteroids in the image itself as it can clutter things up and make it a lil confusing to play on. i would have thought FFG would have come up with lots more designs by now.
