The Chosen 1

By Lordfiredeath, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Sooooo, if you can only afford one expansion out of the gate next week, which one do you choose and why?

Sadly, I think this is the predicament I am in currently. I may be able to swing two, but one is more likely. What are your thoughts? I would love to be persuaded in one direction or another.

Empire, Rebel, Bounty Hunter... any will do!

Royal Guard Champion. He's just plain awesome and looks straight forward to paint as a beginner.

RGC or IG-88 would be my suggestions. Realistically, I think it really depends on what your preferences are, faction wise.

I have a preorder in for all of the sets, but if I had to choose just one, it would be one of the villain packs to add another agenda set option for the Imperial player. I'd probably go with IG-88, would play really well with the Technological Superiority class deck.

With Armada and the IA Expansions coming I have a different problem Lordfire.

Time.

I don't have the time to start campaigns until May even when my pretties arrive  .

Your journey towards the Dark Side is now complete.

Han Solo.

So he can shoot first.

Han Solo.

Greedo

So I can make the Special Editions .

George Lucas

If you're the Empire player: RGC (for skirmishes) or General Weiss (for campaigns, he's one of the game's star villains)

I dunno, if you're a filthy rebel... probably Solo, or maybe the rebel troopers for skirmishes?

Han Solo.

So he can shoot first.

I always found the phrase "Han Solo Shoots First" funny since he technically doesn't shoot first in the original trilogy. He is the ONLY one that shoots. That's what made it so badass. He just did a preemptive strike against Greedo.

Thank you all for your opinions so far. I am thinking either IG-88 or the General, since I mainly play campaign as the Imperial Moff. Keep the suggestions coming though. I am still on the fence.

I think the thing that swings it in favor of IG-88 (over Weiss) for me is that you'll get more chances to use IG-88. He's cheaper to run, and he can go on missions that are indoors.

General Weiss!

Because he can keep on bringing back my beloved Stormtroopers with his Endless Reserves card in skirmish mode.

IG-88 because he's a badass.

Torn between Han & Chewie.

I'm getting General Weiss and maybe Han and Chewie for now. Next batch will be Royal Guard Champion, Rebel Troopers and Rebel Saboteurs. Then finish out with the rest.

I think if your only getting one you should just push the limit and get Weiss first. You know you'll need him at some point.

Similiar problem for me...we are three missions away from the finale, and it would be much more awesome to have a model for Weiss instead of that cardboard piece.

But personally I'll go with IG88 or Han solo. just for badassness. And Han is such an iconic character for Star Wars that it's tough on him being represented by a piece of cardboard...

My hierarchy of expansion purchase preference goes like this:

IG-88

RGC

Chewbacca

Rebel Saboteurs

Han Solo

Weiss

Rebel Troopers

I think that's all of them.

I'll probably only get one or two initially and pick them up steadily over time. But for sure gotta have me some Iggy.

Rebel Troopers (Need those sweet command cards for my Vader's Fist list)

General Weiss (the way my campaign is going, I'm going to be needing that figure for the finale [GO IMPS!], and he has a sweet Agenda set)

Royal Guard Champ (Sweet figure, sweet agendas, and a cool set of Command cards)

IG-88 (Fun agendas and a cool dude for skirmish)

Chewie

Han

Saboteurs

Man I miss '88!

I was tan and still had my abdominal muscles then, Han was the only one who took a shot, Lucas was still primo and we ALL had no idea what a Jar Jar Binks was.
