I don't listen much to podcasts, but I didn't realize that scum boba was considered weak. Did a Boba and Kath scum list today, and everyone was saying how Firesprays are weak. But ended up in the top 8 and destroyed some phantom Decimator lists. Got insane amounts of rerolls that saved me a few times in a furball, whereas Kath died in the similar furballs.

Oh yeah, this is coming from playing the imperial boba 2 weeks ago with similar build out. ****, scum boba is WAY better.

Plus, SableGryphon just went 8-0 in a store championship with Boba and IG-B.

Where do we get the Scum version of Bobba? Do we have to buy another Firespray or do the dials and cards come in another S&V pack?

Most Wanted. It gives you two Scum Z-95s and a Scum Y-wing, and then the parts (but not models or bases) to convert a HWK, a Firespray and a second Y-wing.

I surely blasted down some ass-comments about the new Boba that have been presented at a few X-Wing venues in the last two weeks.

I think he just wanted them on the yellow bases just to match the scum colours. Not rocking up to worlds to play with them.

It looks more neon green than yellow.

Yeah these colored plastics do give you a varying effect, dependent upon the lighting conditions they can be very bright or subdued. The hue will be affected by the colors they are in contact with too. Black & Yellow make Green, thus there is a slight greenish glow. If I had a red table you can imagine that these Yellow bases would then take on a slight Orange glow, and you would be right.

I'm one of those number-sniffing, pencil-pushing, calculator faces. But we're good friends. =) JBR7 is a much nicer and smarter guy than the net might make him seem!

If I can hijack the thread for a second... I've heard rumors that Boba isn't quite as resilient as one might think he is. Which kind of lowers my amount of fun flying him, but, I could see it being "magic"-able. Work enough magic, don't just fly head-on in high end tournaments, probably all good.

Besides, for funzies, I made a Boba Kath list, "FF"

Set two or three Y-Wings up around Boba... it works great; that is why I had both ship types in the little picture I posted.

I got a chance to play with Scum!Boba last night, and it was awesome. Damage mitigation when you need it most, and offensive dice when they do the most good.

And if you are back to back at range 1, your opponent hates life.

I think scum Boba's value is pretty misunderstood right now and eventually some people will move on, and others will figure out how to use him.

His pilot ability, on the surface, appears to encourage you to just plow in, guns a-blazin'. But nay sayers are right, he'll die. He's not resilient enough, even with re-rolls, to withstand a 1 vs 4 fight.

On the other hand, the swarms he might want to joust, don't have rear firing arcs. His ideal spot is not to be trading blows but to be firing from a position where he cannot be shot at, but is dumping out 4 dice shots powered by re-rolling.

How to do this? I like Navigator and Engine Upgrade. The firespray's dial is fine, but not set up for reactionary movement, but navigator and Engine upgrade change that. With this combo, setting up the perfect shot is as easy as it'll get.

As far as EPTs go, VI makes him the best all-rounder. Now he shoots before phantoms cloak and can use the navigator and engine upgrade against any ship on the board to equal effect! If you're not looking for higher PS than 8, I'd suggest predator for damage output even when not at range 1.

Really, Boba is a finesse ship with a brutish sounding pilot ability. He, like any big ship, shouldn't be jousting with swarms.
