Now that the glory that is X-WING WAVE SIX: SCUM & VILLAINY Wave One has made it to good shops everywhere, we can celebrate the return of our favorite bounty hunter... BOBA FETT Is Back & Badass!!!

The new colored bases from STAW AD&D are perfect for keeping track of the dozens of ships needed in X-WING EPIC. It just looks super cool too.

I am so happy that The Real Boba finally made it back into our sector way out here in The Outer Rim.

For a long time the best bounty hunter in the STAR WARS Universe was lacking a lot of that cool-badness we knew him for in the stories we grew up with... that has been fixed now.

Believe it or not my wonderful Star Brothers, there are some crazy people who like to think they know more than us because they bumble around at tournaments. I have read and listened to podcast where they have have said that the new Boba is weak, and that he is not all that great in fact.

These people are not to be taken seriously... ever.

after listening to the podcast i thought the new bona would be a dud, but my pt buddy ran him yesterday with ptl security droid and some other stuff and he kicked ass. like he should.

You cant use the the STAW bases in organised play though can you as *technically* they give you a move thats a few milimetres shorter than a proper one because of the recess?

Also dont 'nubs' count for collision etc so if you dont have them you sort of got a smaller base?

I mean it wouldnt bother me cos i dont really play in tournys but im just checking the 'legality' of it for OP.

If they are OP legal i think i'd prefer mine to be coloured.

Im missing two bases at the mo and i bought after market ones that im really not happy with.

On topic the new boba is sooo much better than the imp version.

He particularly excells agains tie swarms.

He got mixed up 'close and personal' with a six tie swam at a recent game which pretty much gave him more re-rolls than i could use so he was avoiding fire like crazy and smashing up anything that came near him.

Most Wanted. It gives you two Scum Z-95s and a Scum Y-wing, and then the parts (but not models or bases) to convert a HWK, a Firespray and a second Y-wing.

I think he just wanted them on the yellow bases just to match the scum colours. Not rocking up to worlds to play with them.

This game is not all about maths, fly your new Boba at the foe and they will scatter, no one wants to give him his rerolls. This in turn means you are also dictating what opponent wants to do. This is a good thing if you want to win.

Also Boba fits much better in a scum fleet. 45ish points spent on our favourite bounty hunter in Empire would be better spent on Rexlar or Whisper or anything really.

In the scum fleet there is nothing that packs his punch in that survivable package at that points level (I've been unimpressed with the ig's).

And that k4 security droid is just awesome.

I really like Boba, dampeners, ptl, engine and k4.

Having said that he works quite well just naked.

That's probably due to your monitor. RGB monitors can't produce yellow light.

The border's yellow, so if my monitor couldn't handle yellow that'd come across as neon green too.

I got a chance to play with Scum!Boba last night, and it was awesome. Damage mitigation when you need it most, and offensive dice when they do the most good.

And if you are back to back at range 1, your opponent hates life.

Caps lock is not always meant to be a bad attitude, most of the time I am (trying to) be very funny when I use the good ole caps.

I surely blasted down some ass-comments about the new Boba that have been presented at a few X-Wing venues in the last two weeks.

I think he just wanted them on the yellow bases just to match the scum colours. Not rocking up to worlds to play with them.

Yeah these colored plastics do give you a varying effect, dependent upon the lighting conditions they can be very bright or subdued. The hue will be affected by the colors they are in contact with too. Black & Yellow make Green, thus there is a slight greenish glow. If I had a red table you can imagine that these Yellow bases would then take on a slight Orange glow, and you would be right.

The tricks you could pull off with those banks combined with V.I meant you didn't even have to spring for EU if you flew him properly, the problem is he just didn't have any reliable way to modify his damage output to justify his cost.

New Boba does: K4 Security droid. Sadly, that **** is scum only

New Boba is going to take some figuring out. I tried him with V.I, K4, and EU and I didn't really enjoy it. I felt, once again, that I was only taking him for PS 10 and that his ability didn't even come into play as much as his imperial counter-part. Really, the K4 pulled most of the weight. The defensive re-rolls were useful here and there, but they didn't contribute to his survivability as much as I would have liked (the range 2-3 shots and are much more bearable with an enemy within one, but the range 1 shots are no bueno)

So, that made me sad. Would have liked to go chasing phantoms down with the big guy. Oh well, time for something far more conventional: K4, Expert Handling Boba

Seriously, K4 makes Expert Handling worth using. Boba's re-rolls, which you can trigger without getting shot at via some crafty barrel-rolls, are just gravy.

Are you playing standard 100 point games?

If so, I can see how the new Boba is less exciting because you do not get into range one as often.
