♦ Scum & Villainy Huge Ship Poll

By gabe69velasquez, in X-Wing

I cast a vote for my Sentinel class corvette since FFG has opened the gate to new designs *L*

There are a variety of sites using that Loston Wallace image

for their own ship ideas. And I do like the size and armament,

but I doubt FFG would seriously consider a fan-made ship,

from one specific RPG community.

Besides, if they were going for an up-gunned CR90

they could have chosen an image that looked more like one.

CR90 Corvette

Armament
  • 2 Dual Turbolaser Turrets
  • 4 Turbolaser Cannons

Sentinel-Class Corvette

Armament
  • 6 Dual Turbolaser Turrets
  • 8 Quad Laser Turrets
  • 4 Ion Cannon
  • 2 Tractor Beams
  • Point Defense System

IIRC that is a Black Lion Battlecruiser from Battletech.....

It's a cool ship, it's grown on me since having seen so much of it in Star Wars Rebels. With three factions now, I think that it has three times the chance of getting in the game,as I'm sure like every other ship that wasn't a kilometer long the Rebels got a hold of one. My first choice for any faction would still be the DP20, as it out guns a CR90 even though it's smaller, and I keep seeing it everywhere, like just minutes ago I spotted two in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTow8NK-_pU

This small video did more service to Legends (and the old fans) than the whole SW Rebels 2 seasons... :/

Ugh. It reminded me that Force Unleashed II exists. That's the opposite of fan service. At least Rebels has a storyline that makes sense (and isn't a complete rip off. That game had like, 4 hours of gameplay).

Rebels could be a great vehicle to canonize and make familiar to the new public some great old Legends characters and vehicles. Well, it kind of does that sometimes, but other times it misses completely the point in its quest to add new toys for kids.

Imagine this:

Instead of those awful Miners Guild TIE Fighters, they could have used any of the many Scum starfighters from XW:A.

Instead of the hideous VCX-100, they could have used any ship of the YT-series.

Instead of yet another uninspired (Inquisitor's) TIE, they could have used any existing TIE variant, like the TIE Hunter, or even the Assault Gunboat.

Instead of the Hammerhead Cruiser, they could have used the DP20 or the Action VI.

Instead of the A-Wings as Rebel cannon folder, they could have used the Z95s.

Instead of the Blade-Wing "Stardestroyer laser", they could have used a B-Wing firing torpedoes.

Instead of lightsaber helicopters... well, that was the worst. They could have used anything different.

So much potential...

EDIT: I'm not defending The Force Unleashed II (a game I didn't even play), but only that small video clip.

Haha fair enough. I just have a viscerally negative reaction to anything associated with the game, most disappointed in a game I've ever been (I loved the first one). I see what you're saying, and it would be nice to see a bit more legends material. I think it's essential to strike a balance between new and old though (I like the VCX and Inquisitor's tie, for example, because they make rebels unique). And if you include some legends stuff (such as the Hammerheads, the Quaser-class, and the Interdictor) you always run the risk of being told you should have included other stuff instead. Again, that's just me. Totally understand where you're coming from.

This one, I guess.

Next thing you know Wizkids grabs the rights to a star citizen miniatures game.

Id be surprised if FFG did the Marauder at ~200m its longer and wider then the other epic ships it would probably need three bases to stand on to keep it from tipping over all the time. The other problem is the epic maneuver template if you make a ship that's longer or wider then the CR-90 you get some power sliding effect with its movements. Lastly theme-wise should scum really have the biggest ship in the x-wing paddle pool?

Its a cool ship and all and we'll probably see it in Armada but if 250m was too long 200 is probably too long as well.

Not my first choice, but between Melminiature's sliding scale and Marinealver's base design I wouldn't count it as not doable.

If I didn't mention it before that set of Marauder pilot cards is very inspiring.

Those are Mel Miniature's cards, ... pandering for the sale.

I would hope there are better versions out there somewhere (?).
