Hello there, basic question. What makes a ship a jouster, a flanker, and especially a blocker(i thought ships could shoot through other ships) if there's already a resource out there, a link wouod be awesome. Thanks!
ship roles clarification please
Flankers are vey maneuverable - able to dodge firing arcs ideally. Get round the sides and cause mayhem.
Jousters - High HP, high damage - (TIE Bombers, B-wings, etc) Can go head on, take a hit (or shoot first and destroy your ship) and survive to give massive/high damage back.
Blocker - you are correct, ships can shoot through, so its not a blocker in that respect, you move a low Pilot Skill ship where you know (or think) a higher PS ship will be to make him ram you, denying their action and effectively weakening them.
Edited by Lord_SquintyThere are no perfect definitions, but I'll share what I think are the basics.
"Jousters" are ships that you point straight at enemy ships and are going to soak damage and shoot back, either because they are tough (b-wing) or in decent numbers and cheap (a couple of Zs). What they tend not to do well is escape enemy shots through maneuver.
When people say "flanker" they are usually referring to ships that are tough to pin down because they move fast, are have maneuver options (boost/barrel roll), and often high PS.
Blockers are ships that are usually low PS and cheap. They don't block enemy shots but try to deliberately block enemy movement options and prevent them from taking actions.
Thank you very much, I apologize for the horrible spelling and grammar, walking and foruming do not mix xD
