Sea of Blood isn't compatible with the second edition. Except for the conversion kit, which features the heroes and monsters from the first edition (many of which are being remade for the second edition) none of the first edition components are compatible. There may be custom rules out there to make 2nd ed more like Sea of Blood, but I am not aware of them.

Definitely needs a conversion, if you are willing to put in the effort it's worth getting a copy.

No. Unless it contains a Nara the Fang figure, in which case she would be useable in 2E, if you also have the Conversion Kit. The bulk of the expansion would be useless, though.

None that I'm aware of, but you could certainly make your own.

If your friend is offering to give you SoB (for free) then I would accept it, if I were you. You can either use it for homebrew fodder or you can resell it online.
