Pierced, Armor Pierced (Imps)

By Hayes, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Previously Tactician was too conditional / avoidable to work consistently. With the release of the Flechette Cannon, however, I wonder if there isn't a decent way to employ the combination to lock out your opponent's fleet (especially in this era of 2 ship builds). Several variations I'd love to hear some feedback on:

What? No Gunner/Tactician/Flechette Cannon Shuttles?

I think you're going a little overboard with the Flechette Cannons. Your either going to be spreading fire quite a bit or wasting the stress effect.

I like the idea of the three named shuttles, and the shuttle swarm, too.

Flechette Cannon/Gunner don't interact too well, as you need to hit with the cannon to actually cause stress.

It pairs nicely with tactician - but on the other hand, so does a second tactician....

I can see arguments in favour of tactician (doesn't need to hit, always causes stress even if they've got one) and some in favour of the cannon (avoids range 3 bonus, causes stress at range 1 and range 3).

I'll be honest, I can see it working okay, but I'd be loath to ever field a shuttle without an engine upgrade because turning corners. At the same time, I wonder if rather than fire control, a sensor jammer might do you proud.

In theory, your opponent's key ships should be so buried in stress tokens after the initial pass that they're never getting actions ever again. Therefore they can't have a focus token, and therefore sensor jammer should actually be pretty **** good.
