The rear arc counts as a firing arc, so yes, Tactician mostly certainly does work with it.
Outmaneuver is another card that gets hampered by the Firespray's rear arc. You can only effectively attack the Firespray from the sides and use Outmaneuver.

A Firespray pilot with the Outmaneuver talent, conversely, can use it when firing from the auxiliary firing arc as well.
(And the TIE pilot Backstabber facing Firesprays has to re-apply as 'Sidestabber', which doesn't quite have the same ring to it...)
It does make him sound like a vicious sob though, as opposed to a traitorous cur.
The only thing you can't do with the rear arc is use secondary weapons
Ok that's what I thought but makeing sure I didn't miss something

Does a ship with autothrusters get the benefit of them at Range 1-2 of a Firespray's rear arc?

That's an attack inside the firing arc. So the answer is no.
The key to look for with firing arc questions is whether it says "Primary" firing arc. As is clear in the FAQ, the Firespray's auxiliary arc is a firing arc, but it is not a "Primary Arc". If a card specifically says primary arc (and a few do) then it only works with the front arc, if all it says it "firing arc", with no qualifiers, it works with any arc.
Since we're discussing Firing Arcs, Auxiliary Firing Arcs and Primary Firing Arcs, I think this is worth mentioning the difference between the Firespray and Decimator/YTs.
As had been said, the Firespray has an Auxiliary Firing Arc and a Primary Firing Arc. Whenever an effect refers to generic "Firing Arcs", this includes both the Primary and Auxiliary Firing Arcs. Therefore, Tactician can be triggered in both Firing Arcs, and Autothrusters is disabled if the defender is in either Firing Arc at range 1 or 2.
However, the Decimator, YT-1300 and YT-2400 only have a Primary Firing Arc. They do not have a "360° Firing Arc". They can simply fire outside their Firing Arc. Therefore, Tactician is only triggered is the Defender is inside their (Primary) Firing Arc and Autothrusters is only disabled if the defender is their (Primary) Firing Arc at range 1 or 2.
Thanks to the three of you. My buddy got off easy the other night.
