More Star Wars Movies? I Think So.

By Beatty, in Star Wars: Armada

But Han didn't actually shoot Vader now did he?

You should watch Rebels. It is canon and it does have Imperial Tie pilots in there regularly. So check it out, it is not just a kids show it is getting into much of the stuff not seen in the first three movies.

By the way Tie Pilots are arrogant as hell and treat citizens like scum.

"Do or do not, there is no try..."

"What does that even mean?!?"

"I don't know! But Master Yoda said it all the time..."

So, the great big Disney zipper comes down and someone prepares to urinate on what is left of my childhood... I hope this is not Special Edition all over again! Maybe Wedge will only be allowed to return fire when nasty Imperial Ties take the first aggressive moves...

You will notice that 20 years later I am still not quite over the Han thing...

I love the whole SW universe, but part of me cringes in fear when I hear that something new is coming out - especially if it is going to steam-roll over some of the better EU stuff out there.

Time will tell I guess.

Wow anfauglir... you should relax and just enjoy the ride. Chill man.

Actually since the reins were taken out of Lucas' hands, and even in the Clone Wars period, things have gotten way better. The main issue was Lucas' ego but now that is gone out of the picture, so we should be able to breath better. I mean Disney owns Marvel and these have been some of the best super hero movies in years. (Though Thor would be much better if they focused less on the love story and more on his..... well anything.)

I am about as chilled as people get - generally... but that Han thing... it makes me tense and the buzzing noise in my head starts up again...

Edit - I do not disagree with the Lucas points! But I have little faith that the sellable franchise aspects of SW today will be what we all thought made it great back then. Apart from lightsabers. They are obviously eternal.

**** right he shot first!

One of the big things that did Star Trek in was the over production of it. With a movie every year, this could very well mark the same thing beginning to happen to Star Wars. I'll probably end up being wrong but it is something I do wonder about now that Disney is in charge. Hopefully it's a good movie and about Rogue Squadron, but they'll probably troll us and it'll be about something completely different.

No... what did Star Trek in was that half the movies sucked... Don't get me wrong... I've always enjoyed Star Trek bur it doesn't hold a candle to Star Wars...

Well actualy half of star wars movies sucked to (we call those the precuels) ;)

But yeah i get what you mean and agree with it. Wrath of khan is probably the best of the bunch.

I didn't hate the prequels although they are no match for the holy trilogy... lol... I even liked Revenge of the Silth quite a lot.

I think there is a typical high amount of hate nerdery flying around about how they are going to screw up our childhood. Everyone needs to remember this is made for the next generation. We are here for the ride only. Enjoy your kids getting back into it, and getting to be the cool dad/mom who knows all about it.

My father brought me to see A New Hope when it came out all those years ago. He said he wanted us to see a movie that would change how movies were made. Now as a father myself I am experiencing the same joy watching my son share the same excitement I had when I was his age.

So whatever they make the movie about I hope it has him in mind and is not made into an adult movie. It should be for all ages.

Nah, I am sort of venting in jest and mainly for my own amusement! But I disagree that this is made for the next generation... To be fair though, they will probably experience the same thing when they are being sold Harry Potter: the Next Generation for their own kids. And this level of cynicism will probably sit better on me when I am a Grandfather!

Id so see a movie where a simple farm kid, grows up and joins the Imperial Navy and we follow his career as he loses a lot of people he trained with but eventually moves on to pilot Interceptors or Advanceds until he is moved into a Captains role on an ISD.

So, they do Rouge One. Gives the ladies over 18 some "princesses" to dress up as. Which pays dividends for us fellas as well: am I the only one who would kill to see Disney do a Slave Leia costume for their wife/g.f? :D

On the other hand, some of us would like to see fewer excuses for "eye-candy" in modern media, and more venues for ass-kicking female leads. Hopefully Rogue One will provide the latter.

EDIT: I just...really? More Star Wars movies are coming out, and basically all we know about this one is that it has a female lead...and the response is jokes about slave bikini costumes? Aren't there more exciting things suggested by the title "Rogue One" than the possibility that the main character gets half-naked?

I think they lost out big time with not casting Tatiana Masalny. The fact she has not won any awards for Orphan Black is a mockery of Award nights everywhere. Her versatility and background in improv would have been awesome in the Star Wars setting.

Also any reason why this topic is even IN this part of the forum?

If you want you can request FFG to start sub forums since the game is releasing now but there was no other place. So here it is. ;)
