Side Quest Deck Question

By KennedyHawk2, in Imperial Assault Campaign

We are starting a campaign on Monday and all of the new Ally packs look to be in locally on Tuesday (thats when the big FFG shipment usually gets in). If we want to integrate some of the new side missions whats the best way to do this?

Can we incorporate grey and green missions into the deck event after playing the first side mission. Does the deck remain unshuffled from play session to session (I know the unchosen one remains on the board but can they slot in the ones with Han/Chewy packs etc by reconstructing the deck after the first session?

Similar question for Agendas. As the Imperial player I pick 6 agenda sets, Can I opt to swap one of them out after the first session. Like if I want to add the agendas from the Royal Guard Champion pack? Obviously if I haven't spent any influence it isn't a big deal but once I've bought some would it break the game if I swapped out an currently unused set for a new one? (Not a purchased one but one still fully in the deck)

For side missions, I see no reason not to swap out the ones that haven't been used yet. It's a constantly shifting galaxy, you know?

For Agendas, though, I agree with your analysis. Once you've had an Imp upgrade stage, you shouldn't be swapping things out. Would it be possible to only do Aftermath on the first day, then do your upgrade stages and dealing the first two side missions at the beginning of the second day?

I could see possibly swapping out an Imperial Agenda set out of the Imperial deck so long as none of the cards in that set have been purchased with influence.

For the rebels, you could probably just re-shuffle the new grey missions in there, so long as you maintain the same number of unplayed greys. As for the new green missions, you got the models, as long as there isn't a green side mission in play, I'd let my rebels swap them out, again, maintaining the same ratio of played / unplayed green missions.

That's just me though, your results may vary.

We're going to try it and see how it goes.

I could see possibly swapping out an Imperial Agenda set out of the Imperial deck so long as none of the cards in that set have been purchased with influence.

The problem with that is that you might have already seen a card from that set and decided not to buy it. By switching agendas midstream, you will have changed what agendas you might or might not have bought in previous steps. My take is that as soon as you see a card from the Class, Agenda, or Side Mission decks, you probably should not change that deck in any way.

You're forgetting that the imperial side deck agenda sets are common knowledge to imperial player. I know exactly what 18 cards are in that deck. I know which agendas I am going to buy and which ones I am not before the campaign even starts, and in what order I am going to buy them> All I am waiting for is the luck of the draw for them to appear.

Now, if you consider the fact that the base game comes with 6 agenda sets, +1 for the Vader Villain Pack, you actually have very little choice when you build your Agenda deck. Bascially, if you choose to take the Vader agenda, which agenda are you leaving out? That's pretty weak for "customization". That's why I figure it's no big deal to switch them mid game, provided you have not bought any cards from that set, basically swapping out 3 new cards, for a full set of 3 other agenda cards you would have picked anyway had they been available.

I think swapping out would be fine. I mean hey, you just spent money on a pack, and then someone is going to tell you can't *shuffle* in a new set of 3 cards into a deck? I would think any normal play group would allow it unless they are getting super competitive (like there is money on the line for who wins the campaign). Again like said before just don't choose a set of 3 cards that have had one purchased already.
