Very sad news indeed, much loved author who inspired and made so many people laugh.
In a way its a blessing he does not have to suffer anymore with such a horrible disease, it destroys a person piece by piece
Thoughts are with his family and friends
RIP
RIP Terry Pratchett
RIP Terry.
Don't give Death too much of a hard time, as you've pointed yourself, he's only doing his job.
Rip Terry
Thanks for all the laughs you have given me
What can the harvest hope for, if not for the care of the reaper man?
Thanks for all the wit and wisdom Pterry.
So sad about this... RIP Terry Pratchett, a true inspiration and easily one of the best authors ever.
OOOK.
he was a lovely man.
I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times and he signed my books 'to Captain Carrot (Gadge) ' as I was a serving soldier at the time.
He was a very warm and friendly man to talk to.
RIP Terry.
A man responsible for getting a lot of people into reading he`ll be missed.
I just started reading The Long Earth this week. Pretty interesting concept. I had not heard of him before.
Im still hoping for a turtle miniature, even if not to scale..
No one is actually dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away… from Reaper man
This is a really nice way of paying tribute btw:

You can get a nice pin from the discworld emporium.

Ha! I found a connection. Terry Pratchett was on the very first issue of PC Gamer, and in the article Terry says he enjoys playing X-Wing (

end of page 23). Of course the computer game, but somehow i imagine him to be a boardgamegeek as well
He also was an avid Doom player and really loved the Thief series and the custom made levels for that game. I remember him posting on alt.fan.pratchett that in one level he was stuck in a closet with zombies roaming around outside.
