My thoughts

Hi to all.
I read one great idea about making missile weapons more useful on this forum some time ago and I think it's worth mentioning it again.
Missiles (all rockets and torpedoes) should make fixed amount of hits (like ion canon). Players should roll defined number of red dices and if the missile hits it makes predefined amount of damage.

For example,

proton torpedoes - roll two red dices, on hit defender takes three hits,

(two dices would make proton torpedoes harder to hit targets with higher agility but it would destroy low shield/hull targets in one hit)

advanced proton torpedoes - roll three dices, on hit defender takes three hits and one crit,

(three dices because advanced proton torpedoes are more agile and powerfull than regular torpedoes)

homing missiles - roll four dices, on hit defender takes one hit and one crit,

(more dices because homing missiles are fast and more likely to hit target but make less damage than proton torpedoes)

etc.

That would, of course, require altering missiles points cost.

One more thing what is on my mind, how about increasing range to 4 (or 5) for missiles?
That would create possibility for ships carrying missiles to stay farther from the heat of battle while other ships protect them like in "real" space battle.

Imagine couple of bombers firing torpedoes from a distance while tie fighters provide cover.

(English is not my native language and it took me half an hour to write this post, so be kind. :) )

Your english is very good, better than some native speakers (unfortunately for America, lol).

The thing about the fixed damage concept is that it would require a total rewriting and costing of every missile & torpedo card, and FFG's designer have stated that they wont do that sort of thing. The real issue many player have with ordnance is that the cost is high for a one time use upgrade, and they generally require a Target Lock to fire, which means low PS ships will struggle to get the locks since they move first, and then they either wont have a focus to modify their attack dice, or if hold on to the lock and they survive into the next round, they'll only have a focus to modify the attack dice.

As for increasing range to 4-5, the core game only comes with a range 1-3 ruler, so you'd need a Tantive or Raider to get the longer range ruler.
